How to get money back?

I got scammed today tried to buy a EQ1 account from someone. Turns out they sold me a empty account they just created.

I have already sent the money via paypal.

Does anyone know the process i need to go through to get my money back?

Please tell me im not screwed!

I believe you can just do a chargeback on the money (file a claim) and say that you didn't receive the item. It is an intangible good so that means no tracking number which means no seller protection. Ergo you should win. However, if you sent the payment as a "Gift," "Money Owed," or put a note that says "Goods have been received" you will not be able to successfully file a chargeback. Give PayPal a call for help if you need it.

i filed a "did not receive goods" request in the resolutions center.

I sent the money as a online service, and not as a gift or anything.

I am also going to get my CC company to cancel the charge on my CC.

That is the best idea, DO NOT let paypal decide the outcome, they are RETARDED! Always file a chargeback with your CC company, say you were getting electronics of some sort, and that you paid and they never sent you the item, and bam its game over

well i called the CC company.

They said the charge is still pending but once it shows up on my CC i can call back and have them look into it. they cannot just cancel it but they can do a temporary credit? and look into the issue.

I told them it was for online goods.

If all else fails, then it's into a sea of hopelessness because you gotta go to their jurisdiction and file at their county court house for a trial date for small claims court. Then hang out in their city until the date arrives, serve summons to them, etc. You'll likely end up wasting more in gas and lodging than it's worth. Some jurisdictions allow trials by telephone but you'd still need someone to at least represent you in filing the papers, etc.
