1. Read the admins posts on top of your EU/USA Selling/Trading/Buying Pages, those are very helpful.
2. If the offer is to good to be true, then it probably is. For instance, someone tried to sell me a 70 Rogue for 280 Dollars, I took him down to 190, if someone is willing to go down that much then they are out to scam you. Most people will tell you they have some better offers, so its a no go.
3. Cant stress this enough, use SEARCH, that's what its for, if someone has a Neutral, search their usernames, you'll be surprised what you find.
4. Ask most people what their MD names are and to post in your thread. If they tell you they never got around to making an MD then they are most definitely trying to scam you. Once again, if you see someone with 1 post trying to give you the deal of your life, its probably bull.
5. Get TrustWho Verified, now this wont necessarily prevent you from being scammed, but it will make it easier for others to trade with you, especially other TrustWho verified people. It's 5 dollars that could make it easier for you to sell your toon(s).
6. Read the scammers section constantly, you would be surprised to see how many new scammers appear every day. Most of which are just people who return under new names.
7. Analyze the conversation, IMO anyone under 18 shouldn't even be allowed to use the internet without having a parent over their shoulder at all times. From my experience most of the people trying to scam were in the 16 y.o range....which I find to be sad. Think of it this way, would you trust $300 in the hands of a 16 y.o?
If anyone would like to add to this just post in the thread. Hope you newbies find this useful!
