Hey,

I am wondering how much it costs MD or MMOBAY to host this website.

What do they typically make for advertising?

What company do they use to host?

If any one can answer these questions this would be much appreciated.

I think it's far beyond just a web host. More like a dedicated server to run these bad-boys.

Mike posted somewhere the specs of the dedicated that these forums are on, I'll try to dig it up for you.

Google, "Dedicated Servers" goto some websites and compare the specs and prices. You could easily match a price to the specs he is currently running.

Currently we are running a single dedicated server to host the forums (separate from the MMOBay.net website) from <span style="font-weight: bold">Black Lotus Communications</span>.

Revenue details will most likely not be disclosed.

That's quite big for hosting a forum. Especially, UBB.

For a company launching a social network website w/ eventual projected ACU (Average concurrent users) of 30,000 - 40,000, what would you guys suggest as a hosting service?

What do you think about Amazon's EC2 hosting?


I am also trying to get a reading on ad revenue (for ease, lets go with Google Adsense). With a ACU base as stated above, what would you guesstimate the ad revenue would be monthly?

yea these numbers seem pretty close but yea not cheap put it that way
