How does EpicNPC verify your phone number?

Is it through a text or call? Because I live in Canada and my cellphone plan can't take calls from the US. I never thought I'd want to become a verified member but doing business in here worked better than what I've expected! This website rocks And so I would like to take this more seriously.

Also I live in Quebec so my driver's license in french, I don't know if that counts? I don't have a passport :l
