how does buying sticky thread work?

does buying sticky thread mean our "old thread/active thread" get pinned to sticky thread? or i create another thread and it get pinned to sticky thread after i buy it?

You can use an existing thread or create a new one. During the purchase process it will ask you what you want to do.

ah, i thought i can still edit them. if i delete the thread to create a new sticky thread, do i have to pay again or i can still use my slot to the sticky thread?

The upgrade is $10 for the full year. If you're going to spend money on ads and need long term editing, it's better to just upgrade. In additional to gaining unlimited edit time, there's also a dozen other perks included.
