So, I have a Division 2 account that i'd like to sell, but I don't know much about this marketplace. Is it safe to trade here given the right amount precautions? Is there a FAQ anywhere I can read that can help me trade better here and protect myself from potential scammers?

WARNING! Off-site contact information posted. Most scams occur off-site. Please contact members directly via EpicNPC chat. We do not investigate disputes if you communicate off-site.
Here are some more tips:

- Unless you are trading with a very reputable member, you should be using a MM for all your trades or make the other guy go first.
- If someone contacts you off-site and claims that they are a reputable member here, make sure to confirm their identity by PMing them on the forums and asking for a screenshot of your conversation.
- Only look at the reputation on EpicNPC. If they claim that they are reputable on another site, it shouldn't make a difference. Even if it's true, if they scam you here, their reputation on that other site will remain intact.
- There are 9 official middlemen on Epic, and they can be found here: https://www.epicnpc.com/forums/middleman-services.59/ (+ doomedtofail who doesn't have a thread). Anyone else claiming to be a MM should not be trusted.
- All MM transactions are done on-site only, using the built in PM system. If you receive spoofed emails that look like they are from EpicNPC, asking you to add someone on skype or discord, they are all fake.

Use logic and common sense when trading. Scammers use tricks that give you a false sense of security and make you trust them.
- If someone seems kind and professional, it doesn't mean that they are not a scammer. In fact, scammers will do their best to make themselves seem as legit as possible.
- Sometimes scammers offer things like 'pay half first, then I give you the item, then pay the other half'. At first it might seem safer, but in the end, the only difference in this particular example is that you will lose half the money instead of all.
- They can also ask you to let them log in to your account to 'check'. Depending on the platform, it might be possible to take partial or full control of the account with just the username and password. If they want to check your account, get in a call and share your screen instead of providing direct access.

In the end, all scams fall into one (or a combination) of these:
1. They trick you into doing something that you shouldn't.
2. They make you think that they are legit and can be trusted.
3. They make you think that they are someone else.

So just keep an eye out and use your brain effectively. :D
100% of scams are the victims' fault.

As for things that can happen after a trade had been conducted, that's a different story and not something that you can prevent all the time. That's the case with any kind of trading with strangers over the internet. It comes with risks.
