So i've been selling my WoW accounts, mostly to a website and for each account they always wanted a scan of my ID, which is perfectly fine because i trust them.

However im curious how it should work when im selling to a player here on these forums, with no rep and not verified. I have such a person interested in an account but also wants a scan of my ID, how should i go about this? I'm worried he may charge back paypal and then if i battle it with blizzard, he would claim he's me using my ID.

Of course i have multiple ID's of myself as well as social security should i need to show it all to blizzard to take the account back if he were a scammer.
But im still curious as to how everyone else on here does it in these situations?

Unless the account is of high value I personally do not include an ID scan. I prefer to retain it and aid the buyer in any ID related needs in the future.

If the account warrants a high price tag, then including an ID scan can be a good way to secure the price.

Thanks, that makes much more sense! I'm going to do it that way :) The accounts i sell never really exceed $70

Yea theres no need on low value accounts. So accounts in your price range shouldn't warrant needing one. Especially when buyer has no rep, leaves you with little protecton if you give it out.

Only do such if you feel 100% comfortable with it. As Doomed and Geek said, there is no "need" for it in that situation.

I provide IDs only to those I completely trust and on very high profile accounts (Realm firsts, Scarab Lords, R1 Glads, etc) and only to repped users.

Of course, like Geek said, it's always nice to offer to help out if an issue arises.
