Important: Personal plots cannot be sold or transferred between players under any circumstances. If a seller claims they can sell you a personal plot, that is not possible in-game. The only way to obtain a personal plot from someone is to buy their entire FFXIV account, giving you full ownership of everything on it — the plot included. Only Free Company (FC) plots can be transferred without a full account sale, and only through the method described below.
Note on shared plot access: FFXIV does allow players to grant others shared access to their personal plot, however this access can be revoked at any time by the owner. For this reason, we do not allow listings that sell shared plot access — it offers no real ownership and provides no protection to the buyer.
How to safely purchase a plot or house in FFXIV.
1) Buy the full FFXIV account. This method might not be ideal, but you're guaranteed to get the plot you want.2) Free Company (FC) Plot Transfer — The only legitimate in-game method to transfer an FC-owned plot from one player to another.
This method does guarantee the transfer, however it requires patience due to the mandatory 30-day waiting period.
How an FC plot transfer works:
1. The seller must be the Master rank of their Free Company that owns the plot. Before inviting the buyer, the seller should remove all other members from the FC so the buyer is the only person being invited. This ensures no third parties have access to the FC or plot during the transfer process.
2. The seller invites the buyer to the FC.
3. The buyer joins the FC. There are no in-game level requirements to join an FC — the buyer only needs to have learned the Teleport action (available very early in the main story) to travel to the FC house and maintain the plot.
Free Trial accounts cannot join Free Companies. To participate in an FC plot transfer, the buyer must own a full (paid) copy of the game and maintain an active monthly subscription. Free Trial accounts are restricted from FC membership and therefore cannot use this transfer method.
4. The buyer must remain in the FC for 30 days before FC ownership can be transferred. This is a hard in-game requirement and cannot be bypassed.
5. After 30 days, the seller transfers FC Master rank to the buyer and leaves the FC.
6. The buyer is now the sole FC member and has full ownership of the plot.

3) Try to obtain the plot or house on your own. The success rate is much lower if you try purchasing the land/house manually.
This method does NOT guarantee you will get the house or plot, so be warned.
