Account Recalls
######################
Most account recalls have little proof. To get more evidence, please open a support ticket to attempt to recover the account BEFORE opening a dispute thread.

Did the seller say he is the original owner? No
What account information did the seller provide you at the time of sale? Serial, log in, showed me using the account via stream
How long did you have the account before it was recalled? Still have game account, not the email. Email recalled in less than 48 hours. Guy is trying to get game account via email
If you have a support ticket about this recall, please post screenshots of it.
(you can use the HIDE tag so the images are not publicly available to everyone)

Not my doings atleast. Middle-man changed all details so I have no longer control of the game nor email account.

I confirmed the GW2 account currently has a phone authenticator enabled, the only way to recall an account like this is to contact AreneaNet support and provide proof they are the owner.

Did you change the GW2 email address? If not, I recommend doing that now.

Chronix_ are you the original owner of the Gmail account? If not, who did you received this email address from?

How was payment made? I don't see any information exchanged about payment. Please send me a PM showing the payment included both email address used if Paypal was used.

If you see in the screen shot, Chronix_ recalled the email, not game, and requested the game password be changed from what I had changed it to. After I received a notification that the email password was changed, I logged in the game account and put in phone authentication. Due to his request to Anet stating the email was hacked, the game was subsequently banned.

What screenshot? I don't see any images in the post. I don't believe you used the Hide tabs incorrectly as it should show something even if the content is hidden.

Please confirm

Chronix_ recovered the Gmail account
Chronix_ then used the email to contact ArenaNet support and requested the password to be changed
cookiesunder saw the Gmail password change, then added phone to GW2 account before the GW2 password was changed
ArenaNet saw Chronix_'s support ticket to change password, but instead banned the account?

Is this correct and in the correct order?

Are you claming that Chronix_ attempted to steal the account back after the sale? How do you know Chronix_ took the email back?

Yes. This is correct and in the correct order.

I am claiming that Chronix_ attempted to steal the account back after the sale.

After I had possession of the gmail I changed the password and added a recovery email. The recovery email notified me that the gmail password had been changed. I tried to login to the gmail and could not use my recovery email or password. I logged into the game account and a ticket to Anet had been opened stating the account was hacked. This very shortly after I no longer had access to the gmail.

Did you take a screenshot of the Anet support ticket that said the account was hacked? Are you still able to access the Anet support site?
Chronix_ please respond. Are you the original owner of this account? If not, who did you purchase it from?

Ah apologies for the delay, didn't get any notifications for this conversation.

No, I'm not the original owner of the account, I also mentioned that to 'cookiesunder'.

I purchased the account few months ago from user 'StXrX' here on EpicNPC.
He was the main owner of the Gmail account but it was not being used, so it'd surprise me if he tried to recover it. But you can always ask.
We used middle-man Logisticz for that trade as a confirmation.
This was the original thread: https://www.epicnpc.com/threads/128...ccountvalue-Account-17-Legies-Legy-Armor-more

I have no intentions in getting the account back at all so I've not changed any required information, nor tried to recover any of it.
I sold the account for 100 euros less than I previously purchased it, I agreed with 'cookiesunder' paying via PayPal as business as he insisted to paying extra fees, I was fine with that.
I even dropped the price because he had to pay middleman fees.

Now I'm wondering, if 'cookiesunder' changes the email of the GW2 account, that should solve the problem no? As he still has access to the GW2 account with his phone authenticator on.
Or am I missing something in this whole situation of false accusations?

Cheers.

Also, 'cookiesunder' claims he changed the accounts' gmail account plus added a recovery gmail added to that. I wonder, if it did happen, how the gmail could so easily be password changed? And why he can't even use the recovery gmail to get it back.

Also, 'cookiesunder' owns all possible information of the account and the original owner's information to proof it's his account.

Chronix_ the GW2 account was banned. StXrX has been notified.

Evidnece was provided showing on July 18th an Anet support ticket was opened claiming the account was hacked. At this time the email was changed to gw***[email protected].

April 26 - GW2 account sold by StXrX to Chronix_
July 18 - GW2 account recalled, email change to gw***[email protected]
Sept 10 - GW2 account sold by Chronix_ to cookiesunder

1) Based on our full disclosure rules, the seller MUST tell the buyer (before payment) if the account was ever hacked or recalled previously.
https://www.epicnpc.com/infocenter/forumrules.html

This was not done. Based on this alone, Chronix_ should issue a full refund to cookiesunder

2) What happened on July 18th?

Chronix_ did you open that support ticket? You must have since the email was changed to gw***[email protected], which is the same email you gave to cookiesunder? Who hacked it? StXrX? Why didn't you open a dispute against him or at least report it to us?

The account was indeed changed of email with both our knowledge of it, StrXrX and me.
When I bought the account it was also closed and we came to the agreement to change it to an other email of his so it wouldn't look suspicious as he's the original owner.

But that's 2 months ago, without problems, why would they suddenly close it now?

Doesn't prove anything why I would recall or recover it now after selling it. As said, 'cookiesunder' contains all information to change the email to one of his, as he already did. Plus he has all information to proof he is the original owner now. Just change that and get back to playing?

This does not make sense. You can change the email address for a GW2 account very easily. All you have to do is login and change it.

StXrX is the one that contacted Anet support, not you, because he first asked to change the email to mm***[email protected], which is the same email he uses here. Anet told him no, because the email is being used on another GW2 account.

StXrX didn't know what the current email address on the account was. If you and StXrX opened this support ticket, why didn't either of you know what the email address on the account was?

After that StXrX requested the email to be changed to gw***[email protected].

So to summarize, instead of logging into GW2 and changing the email you did the following.

1) Contact StXrX and ask him to open Anet support ticket
2) Claim the account was hacked
3) Submit proof of ownership to Anet
4) Fail to remember what email was currently on the account
5) Register a new email and change it to gw***[email protected].

I'm sorry to be offensive, but this is probably one of the dumbest explanations we have ever received. This explanation is not accepted.

You opened a support ticket claiming the GW2 account was hacked, this means the GW2 account was hacked.

Since you did not disclose this information to cookiesunder, you owe him a full refund. Please issue the refund ASAP.

I still also want to hear from @StXrX about this.

I have no knowledge of StrXrX using an email address of his that was already in use beforehand. He might have had forgotten he used that email that was already in use on a different account.
Idk, you'll have to ask him for that. I only know that he just changed to one he did not use, gw***[email protected] that is.

I did not claim that the account was hacked, Anet just assumed someone tried to log-in the account that was not of his knowledge, so they closed it.
I kindly asked him to resolve it as he would be more reasonable to Anet to change it, instead of me. So that happened, and I could get back to playing.

I'm happy to give you a refund but then I'll need the account back and act like nothing happened. As I had no bad intentions at all. I just wanted to get rid of the account because I had no time to play it properly. Thank you.

+ StrXrX did not know the new email of the account when he asked Anet to change the email address because when I bought it our middle-man then, Logisticz, changed all that properly. As it should've been done. And I did not mention the current email address when I asked him to recover the account, and it had been done in few minutes so.

What's the freaking issue actually. 'cookiesunder' can easily proof that he is the original owner + he changed all the emails to his favor. And a recovery. He can ask it to unban it immediately.

Who says he is not fooling right now? As he intended to pay the price for the account as a business transaction to PayPal so he could ask it for a refund. I would have not agreed to this if my intend was to claim it back rofl. As we all know payments to friends or family through PayPal is not refundable. Pretty sure that was all his idea after all if you ask me. I seriously don't know the problem here as he can just reclaim the GW2 account in an instant and all will be good...

2.5 months after you purchased the GW2 account from StXrX it was locked for an unknown reason.
You contacted StXrX and he opened the support ticket to provide proof of ownership and to unlock it.
StXrX unlocked it and changed the email address.

Something must have happened on July 18th to have caused Anet to lock the account.

If StXrX can unban the account and recover it, yes, that would solve most of the problems.

However the buyer cookiesunder does not want the account anymore for the following reasons.

1) Someone recalled the Gmail account.
2) Using the Gmail, someone opened a Anet support ticket to recall the GW2 account which cause it to become banned.

I do not have all the details as to what happened on July 18th, but something happened and now the account has been locked/banned for a 2nd time.

Please contact Stxrx and you can work to get the account unbanned with him. Please issue a refund to cookiesunder.

I've no reason either why it got locked after 2,5 months. Anet probably detected that someone other than StXrX played on the account after it got sold to me and took actions. As I said, I didn't have much time play it so, could've been since 18th of July as you mentioned that the account got locked, and that I recognized this when I tried to log in a while after it happened.

Also, why does StXrX have to unban the account, if 'cookiesunder' has all the email addresses, personal information and more information about the account and its original owner.

Sorry, but I do not understand the subject for the recalled Gmail account. 'cookiesunder' mentioned that he changed the Gmail account for the GW2 account to one of his, plus set up a recovery gmail.
If all that happened, and only he knows to what email addresses these have changed, how can it get a recall? If he's the only one that possesses it.

If you're talking about the gw***[email protected] account. What does it matter if this account got recalled if it has no purpose anymore. Because as you guys said, the email addresses have got changed to what 'cookiesunder' has made them to be. So basically if understand what you're saying, someone recalled one of 'cookiesunder''s his new email addresses and sent a support ticket with it?
Also, I removed all security details and authenticators of that gw***[email protected] account as our middle-man can confirm, so he could log in and change all the details.

Easy to say he don't want the account anymore if he doesn't posses it anymore while he has all the information necessary.
But fine, I'll talk to StXrX if he gets online and ask him to get the account back. I won't refund until I got the account back safely or I'll be empty handed for no reason, or reasons without any of my doings.

Thank you.

I've no reason either why it got locked after 2,5 months. Anet probably detected that someone other than StXrX played on the account after it got sold to me and took actions.
This is speculation. You had the account for 2.5 months, which I'm assuming you played it for at least a few days or weeks during this time. If an IP change was detected it would have been detected 2.5 months ago, so something else must have happened in July 18th to trigger an account lock.

Regardless, you are required to disclose that the account was previously locked and you had to submit information to recover it. You did not do this.

Yes, cookiesunder changed the email address on the GW2 account, however the gw***[email protected] was recalled and was then used to try to recall the GW2 account.

cookiesunder could obviously try to use the info you provided to recover the GW2 account himself, but the person that took the gw***[email protected] email account is also trying to do the same thing.

You'll have 2 people opening tickets and providing all the same information. That's going to be a red flag to Anet support. They'll also see that in July 18 something similar happened. This makes it very unlikely they will unban the account.

Please contact
StXrX to recover the account if you can.

Regardless of what happens to the GW2 account you are still responsible for a full refund as you failed to disclose that the account was previously locked and had to be recovered.

I was not able to change the gmail account tied to the game because the gmail given was recalled and the recovery gmail removed shortly after the PayPal transfer was complete. I am willing to give you what I have for a refund.

StrXrX is working on it and trying to get back hold of the account so best not to interfere or it'll only be more suspicious to Anet.
My best guess is that they closed the GW2 account and/or the gmail because they saw that multiple IP addresses tried or were logged in.
Give me a few days to sort it out, I'm fine with giving you a refund if I got more information about this or how it'll end up being.
You can rest on both ears, as I'm saying again, I had no bad intentions at all and I'm really curious how the gmail got recalled or by whom because StrXrX was also able to tell me he didn't do anything to the gw***[email protected] nor the GW2 account.
I'll keep you posted. Thank you for being patient.

Yeah, or what?

StrXrX has sent a ticket about two days ago so. Be patient.

Well, I can't do more than just sit and wait, I last heard StrXrX yesterday and there was no reply yet on the support tickets both to the Gmail as to the GW2 account so. And a ban here is not something that scares me off so.

Sorry, forgot to update this on Friday.

Since there are no updates, I'll assume the payment was not refunded.

Chronix_ has been banned until the payment is made. Once you received it, please contact me or support and we can update this dispute.
