"Don't Give Armoury Links"

I've heard a lot of people say that it's a bad idea to give out links to your armoury. But then if someone is buying an account they will probably want to see the character in-game which is basically the same as giving out a link.

Is there a fundamental difference I'm missing? And is it really so bad to show someone your char whether its in-game or via armoury?

Just try and make sure your client is really interested in your account etc, and if you feel safe enough go for it.
