First off, I’m the author of the SELLERS GUIDE TO NOT GET SCAMMED . I’ve been around Markee Dragon for quite some time, I’ve seen my share of scams and I’ve seen my share of laziness. I decided to write this guide to help all the buyers weed out all the bunk Virtual Goods Providers (VGP). That means anyone who does Power Leveling, Honor Farming, Gold Farming, and Arena Point Farming.
<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #FF0000">Viewing the Advertisement!</span></span>
Step one to finding a VGP is to view their posts on Markee Dragon. Typically speaking, a legitimate VGP will take the time to make their post look good. If a VGP is too lazy to make their post look good, they will treat your account with the same regard. An attractive, well laid out, color coded post will give you the idea that they take pride in their work and are more likely to be legit.
Check to see how new or old the post is. I like to use the same post over and over. The more views I have on my post the better I feel about my business and legitimacy.
<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #FF0000">Price Comparison!</span></span>
Check out the prices of many different VGPs before making your final decision. Get a good idea for the market before spending your hard earned money. Write down the prices and the contact information of prospective providers. Be careful of Undercutting and Overcutting VGPs.
If a VGPs post looks lame, and his prices are way lower than the market, then you have reason to be alarmed. They didn’t take the time to make a good post, they opted just cut their own prices and undercut other legitimate VGPs to make an easy dollar. If you want someone like that running your precious WoW account then by all means.
If a VGPs cost is too high, then they don’t keep up with the market and they are probably new to this business…be aware of who you’re dealing with!
<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #FF0000">Checking Reputation!</span></span>
When you think you have found a good VGP, you need to make sure you research the company or person. Here are some things to check out.
1) MAKE SURE THEY ARE TRUST WHO VERIFIED. If they arent, move on.
2) When did they sign up to Markee Dragon?
3) Where are they located? If outside the same country you are in, be carefull!
4) Do they have Green Rep under their MD handle?
5) Do they have a feedback or REP thread in their signature?
6) Review their posts and reviews by previous customers.
7) Contact a customer or two who has used the service and ask them questions about how they were treated
<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #FF0000">Negotiating Costs!</span></span>
Markee Dragon is a marketplace for virtual goods. In a marketplace there is always room to haggle. A good VGP will make an effort to go that extra mile for their customers. If you approach a VGP with a reasonable offer and they make zero effort to meet you on the deal, then they arent making an attempt to meet the needs of their customer. This does not mean DEMAND free stuff. You will never get anywhere that way, but politely asking about specials or perks or anything extra they might be able to do for you is a fair question to ask.
Example: <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #FF00FF">John</span></span> asks <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #00FF00">Kamitsuna</span></span> to haggle.
<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #FF00FF">John</span></span>: Hey I see that you charge $xx.xx for honor farming. Does anything come with that?
<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #00FF00">Kamitsuna</span></span>: Well I do offer a free 5k honor for orders over 50k
<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #FF00FF">John</span></span>: That’s pretty nice, I was looking to get 150k done. Think maybe you can hook up some free marks for EOTS for me so I can get this item I want.
<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #00FF00">Kamitsuna</span></span>: Sure I think I can make that happen.
<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #FF00FF">John</span></span>: Awesome, can I also get an extra 10k free on the order?
<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #00FF00">Kamitsuna</span></span>: Hehe, im sorry but if I’m already giving you 5k free and hooking you up with some free marks, im going to have to draw the line there. Next time you come to me maybe we can work out something NEXT time you come to me for services after this.
This is an excellent way to haggle. You can see <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #FF00FF">John</span></span> got a little hooked up, but he wasn’t able to take advantage of <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #00FF00">Kamitsuna</span></span>. Any VGP worth their salt should be willing to meet the needs of their customers.
<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #FF0000">Talking to your VGP!</span></span>
<span style="color: #FFFF00">The Rush:</span>
If you’re in conversation with your VGP and they seem like they are in a huge rush to get the payment, you need to be careful. Scammers pray on peoples urges to get things NOW. Be patient with your transactions. Make sure your 100% sure that your comfortable with your decision.
<span style="color: #FFFF00">The Foreigner:</span>
If you’re talking to the VGP representative and their English is very poor, you need to take care. There are a lot of “Chinese Farmers” out there. Blizzard has been known to ban an account solely based on a drastic IP change. If your VGP sounds like they are from some FAR away place….check their post on MD to see where they are really from.
<span style="color: #FFFF00">The Jack@$$:</span>
There are companies out there who use your account to stupid Jack@$$ things. They will have you PAY them to use your character to do some gold selling, your account gets banned AND you’re out money. Make sure to review their reputation before letting them into your account!
<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #FF0000">Finishing the Transaction!</span></span>
After you have chosen your VGP and paid for your services, make sure that you can keep in touch with your VGP. Get regular updates from them on your character status. If they won’t take the time to update you on your account then you might have some problems. Please do not request updates every 2 hours, once a day should be enough. You asking, won’t make things go faster. You might even slow up the process so be patient!
So you might be asking yourself why I would spend the time to write this guide that could possibly promote my competitors. The answer is, I want this community to thrive. I want there to be less scammers. I want the current scammers to NOT be able to do so. Sure, if you go and order someone else’s services and not mine but you followed my guide and it helped you. That’s one less scammer who got his way, and that makes me giggle inside.
I hope this guide helped you in some way, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at all!
