Bump free Bumps :)

An update has been made to the "Bump" feature which will no longer creates a meaningless "bump" post in your thread. It will simply bump your thread to the top with no reply. A second link was also added that will take you quickly to the 'Quick Reply' box incase you do want to add something to your post.

The reason for this change is to get rid of some of the clutter from these 'bump' posts and to prevent threads from becoming 20 pages long with 19 pages of bumps.

This way your customers can provide you with feedback that's easy to find and read without having to go through pages of bumps.

I just tested and it seems to be a bug in both IE and Firefix, but not in Chrome which is what I use and why I didn't catch it. It'll be fixed shortly. Thanks for reporting it.

Edit: Only thing is that if u dont leave a message and on your thread the last post was made by a grey user for example your name grayes up on that thread. Not sure why that happens. Not sure if this happens with greys if a power seller post last there... You should look that up.

The words "bump" will no longer be posted in your thread when you use the bump button. Your thread timer however will still reset and your thread will go to the top of the forum list.

This seems like a nice update, but is there a possibility to ask for an admin to clean up (delete) already existing "bump" posts from a thread?

There's no way to clean up the 'bump', they would have to be manually removed which would take a very long time to do, so we will not be doing it, sorry.

Bug : Still exists for ex. If mod bumped a thread and I bump it after my name also shows up RED instead of yellow. Or if a grey name member bumps my thread and I bump mine after then my name shows up in Grey.

I know someone stated this earlier in this thread. Just wanna to confirm it exists.

Username ULRs have been fixed and go to the correct profile
Thread URLs are still wrong from the "last post" area of the main forum list.

You need to bump your thread for the fix to take place.

The 'bump with reply' should just take you to the bottom of the page where the 'quick reply' box is. What happens when you click it? What browser?

When i click on bump with reply " Chrome Browser" it doesn't take me to the bottom of the page, just does a bump brings my thread to the top, but when i try to reply to someones post it posts my reply on the very first page of the thread instead of posting it under the previous poster.

i've tried posted by clicking on reply on the poster post also tired reply with quote but still posts on the very first page

also when i do this it seems to get ride of the bump i did.. and my thread disappears among the rest of the threads and im able to hit the bump again..

The URL for the "bump with reply" is this just the thread URL with #quick_reply added to the end. The #quick_reply part just brings to you to the quick reply box. You must be clicking the other link if it's bumping your thread. I wasn't able to replicate this error.

As for replying and it posting everything to the first post. That should definitely not be happening.

I tested it on it and can confirm that when you make a post it does add it to the first post and also undoes your bump. I also tested it on another older thread of yours and that didn't happen, so it's something specific to that thread. I'll have to investigate to find how why that's happening.

Update: It fixed itself when I clicked edit and save on the first post of the thread. You must have done some combination of posting, bumping and editing in that thread where it caused the bug. I wasn't able to figure out the combo and since it's so easily fixed and seems to be very rare, Im just going to leave the addon as is.

You can only bump once every 6 hrs. If you try to reply before that it will just edit it to your previous post.

If you try to reply within 6 hrs of your last post, it will just add it to your last post. You can only bump once every 6 hrs.
