The story is as follows:
I put up a thread stating that I want to buy a Princess Connect account. User DMs me on Discord saying that he has an account, provides pictures etc. I ask him to use middleman or provide references, he links me to an account with the same name on a different site (elitepvpers) that shows over 100 positive trade references. I wasn't 100% sold on the references, but after an extended discussion, he agrees to use Paypal goods & services instead of friends & family, so I figure nothing could really go wrong with the buyer protection in place. After I send the money with a screenshot confirmation, he sends back a screenshot showing that the funds are on hold, and he asks me to click the "confirm receipt" button in the transaction on Paypal so that the funds can be made available immediately. I refuse because this would interfere with buyer protection, so he claims that his positive references show that he is trustworthy.
At this point, I make an account on the reference site (elitepvpers) and PM the account that he linked to, asking whether the discord username was his. I get a response saying that it is not, so I go back to Discord and confront the seller. He makes up some flimsy excuse about his supplier accidentally responding to my PM in his place, to which I respond there would be no reason he couldn't log onto epicpvpers right then and PM me again to confirm that the Discord information was correct. I then demand that he delivers the account by July 9 (the earliest day that I am able to escalate a dispute to Paypal) or else face an escalation. He makes up some excuse about how he can't deliver the item until the funds are available in Paypal to protect against chargeback, but I point out that it's not a real excuse because a buyer could chargeback even after the funds are available. He hasn't replied further since then.
I doubt that this case is going to go anywhere productive by July 9, so how do I make sure that I win the inevitable Paypal dispute as a buyer? I've got screenshots of the entire Discord conversation, his Discord username, and the elitepvpers PM where the real owner of the elitepvpers account confirms that the Discord username does not belong to him.
