After the gift cards has been used depending on the type, you can try to discharge them, I guess(Not too sure if possible to discharge though). For PayPal if you used your PayPal balance, you are screwed. If you have a bank account/card linked and you paid via it, I'm pretty sure you would be able to return your money with your bank.
