Hey there, I write this cause there was a post about someone complaining that a certain scammer came back to the server after giving back an item he stole,
I believe the admin said that he believed in second chances and what not I don't quite remember everything so I'm asking why it was deleted, you guys promoted transparency between buyer and seller when it comes to disputes and said that everyone is allowed to know what happens but why isnt it true for admins as well?

I’m not quite sure what you mean by this post.

This is what I am gathering.

User scammed
User was banned
User returned item
User was unbanned

Dispute was moved/deleted(Assuming this is what you mean)
Handled by an admin(Also assuming this is what you mean)

Sorry for the confusion, it was a user that posted the thread in 'help'. He was questioning why such behavior was accepted and an admin commented saying that they believe in second chances basically, honestly I was hoping that the admin in question would comment himself explaining why the post got deleted. at the end of the day this is all sus but what ever.

I believe he is referring to a thread titled "Is EpicNPC tolerating scammers." I also remember reading a thread like that which is now removed

That thread was not a dispute.

If I had to guess why it was deleted was due to it spiralling into trolling and unnecessary arguing.

As for the second chances we would prefer having issues resolved instead of just banning people. While its rare that people change its better to atleast have a few resolved instead of having none resolved.

Hey Fluentcee thank you for reminding me of the title and helping me give more info on this.

Adoxia thanks for your answer.
But while your reply is vague I have seen that "trolling" for your fellow staff member is very subjective and not quite true to the meaning of the word sadly, a lot of people have been banned for trolling cause of their opinion which clashed with how things are ran here.

I understand the purpose of the discord is to buy and sell goods but transparency is as important for people that use this services everyday, this is why I mentioned the disputes being public cause you guys seem to agree on that aspect but solely towards buyer and seller and not between user and admin.

But yes if trolls do indeed troll then I believe you guys can just ban them I still don't see why the post has been removed.

I do not fully understand your reply.

1. Repeating the same comment over and over. Basically accusing staff of taking money to protect scammers could have resulted in a perm ban as it is false information. However, that user was only temp banned for this behaviour. None of the staff accept payments to unban users. Any “payments” are sent to the victim in the case of dispute resolution. Again, we would rather resolve disputes and people actually have their items/money returned. Instead of just banning people non stop. This is also what that entire thread argued around and is a pretty pointless thread. It was more bait than an actual issue.

2. I’m not sure where discord comes up in all this. Disputes are already public. Again, that thread wasn’t a dispute.

3. In my opinion that thread was only being used to bash another member and make false accusations against staff. The user that created the thread just continued to ignore all the facts given to him and just kept repeating the same response that we are paid by scammers. If it were my option he would have been perm banned.

@Adoxia I've been browsing my deleted thread, and I noticed that I was not the first one publicly mentionning the forum member that was taken as an example.
Your accusation is actually more bashing than my whole thread. Imo that should be a reason for a perma ban :p
Let me be pretty clear here. I would have still perm banned you had it been my choice. You suggested that admins and mods accept bribes from scammers which is false. Which in my opinion should be a perm ban.
You seem to only want transparency when it favors you.

Mods are volunteers. We do not make any money from any type of moderation that we do. While you could argue financial gain from status but that is about it.

While you did not originally bring the user up you had no issue discussing him in great detail and any issues around that user. Instead of leaving the users name out of everything and just discussed the actual issues. That would be why it was bashing.

Just because you say sorry about bashing someone doesn't mean you aren't bashing them, as all the issues from that thread could have been discussed without bringing a user into that had nothing to do with it.

Edit: Not going to continue to reply as its a pointless argument.
