I've been in loose contact with this guy (Zay300 on epicnpc) (fireman301#3581 on discord) over the last few days on discord, he seems somewhat friendly and he's offering an FFXI account that matches my request. To be honest though, not a whole lot about our interactions have been adding up.
1. he's on vacation, doesn't know when he will be back, can only provide one screenshot and very generic account info (he wants me to log into his account to verify that it has what i want) — which is fine i guess but seems super fishy
2. he only accepts payment via square cash app, which has no buyer protection or policies surrounding scams other than the ability to "request" that payment be sent back.
3. his asking price is reasonable and within my price range, but he's accepting fractional down payments in exchange for his login info, and upon verification, would expect to be paid the full amount.
4. the reason he's willing to accept a down payment is because he's tight for cash and is in a rush to sell.
5. i've mentioned a few times that i'm not in a rush to buy anything or send money to a stranger without confirming the details of the account, or that it even exists and he's the owner... yet he seems eager to sell ASAP, and talks about it like it's my loss for not sending him a down payment right away.
6. i was considering his proposal when i noticed just now that he was banned from epicnpc just this morning, he has no explanation other than "it must have been because of an argument i had with a potential buyer"... I can't imagine admins here ban accounts lightly or label them as scammers without any hard evidence of such.
7. i can't seem to find much info as to why he was banned, or if he's a scammer that has made multiple accounts here over time.
Any info would be super helpful, whether you're an admin and can provide some insight, or if you're a buyer who has sent this guy money before. If this guy is for real, he has my dream account.
