Anyone else think Bioshock Infinite is overrated?

I finished the game about a week ago, but aside from the story, I honestly didn't see what was so great about the game. It was definitely good, just not as good as some of these 95+ review scores its been getting since the game did nothing new. It also really bothered me that the sniper scenario in the commercial wasn't in the game. I was seriously waiting for that part of the game the entire time.

It's not just you but for me it was more that I really enjoyed the setting of the first two games. Yes I agree it's an above average game, I'd give it a high 80 at most.

I'd give it a 90 personally. Nothing higher than that. I loved the settings and feel of the game along with the story. I just felt that there coulda been more cracks to explore.

It's completely overrated. These critics are running some kind of conspiracy of sorts. When Last of Us came out for PS3, it was hailed as the best PS3 game of all time by EVERYONE. And that was bullsh*t.

I agree with this. I used maybe 2 Vigors the whole game. Didn't see much of a point to them.

I thought the story was amazing. Especially if you understood what they did and what it meant. But I would say it doesn't deserve a high score like it does now. Other games have much more to do than that game. I would have liked to see multiple endings and how different decisions with Elizabeth would effect the ending you got.

A bit overrated yes. One of the biggest disappointments of the game for me was being able to upgrade your weapons and visually see the upgrades you chose. I couldn't sit and play the whole way through as I did for the first two.

There was a big controversy with some Christian believers with this game. The first 15 minutes showed someone doing baptism in a wrong way so Steam decided to refund the game to these religious people. I find that there were more games in the past or even today that should even warrant such a ridiculous claim.
