Am I getting scammed?

A couple of days ago I purchased a priest from someone on here that has 1 good positive feedback, a thread of people who posted positive things, and is verified through the site.

He had really good communication via AIM. I sent him a payment via Western Union as he requested because I don't have any feedback on the forum. He gave me the account information then went to pick up the western union payment. He told me that he would give me the rest of the account information (secret question/email/name, etc) as soon as he returned with the payment.

I've been trying to contact him via this site and his email that is registerred in his signature. He also hasen't logged into AIM since he picked up the payment.

Although I have the account information, I am worried that since he hasen't given me the rest of the information he could just take the account back later on down the road. Also, the name I sent the Western Union payment was a different name than the one verified through the website.

If he wont give you rest info within 24 hours , i prefer to report him as scammer to beware other people.

If you care about money and want to get it back you can also report him to http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

Yea if someone takes money from you I would follow up with legal action.

Its only $200. It was too good to be true, I should have known better I guess. I was thinking maybe just reporting the account to Blizzard that it was sold to me. I guess just getting it perma banned will help from him stealing it back and reselling it. Your thoughts?

If it was me, I would take up legal actions against him. But that's just me. Feel free to do whatever you think is necessary.

Hey Chatty. I've been trying to contact you with the number you left me. I'm so sorry about the delay. I can explain everything. I would like to continue the trade and give you the rest of the info. I see you have done a xfer and name change on the account, If I was at all interested in scamming you I would have done it by now and got the account back, not wait weeks later and just damage my rep.

I can explain what happened and why it took me so long, but In no way am I trying to screw you over. This is the first day I've been on md and aim since the trade and I'd like to complete it since you did come through with the payment.

Again I am so sorry about all this and you having to wait thinking you got screwed over. That's not an experience I want to give to anyone, especially someone who is new on md. MD is a great site and I would never want anyone to doubt it, me, my rep, or twv. I want to let you know you were not scammed and I will be waiting to hear back from you so I can complete my end of the deal.

I'm not sure what to think about Chatty. We spoke on the phone and everything seemed cool, legit and sold. Price and everything was agreed upon. After speaking on the phone, I sent a certified letter that cost me $10.04 to the address given in this e-mail. If I knew a name and an e-mail, I'd sue this person for my $10.04 plus court costs inasmuch as she agreed to buy the account and I wouldn't have sent the certified letter if this wasn't a sure thing after speaking on the phone.

Here's her first e-mail:

"Hi there. Wow! He's everything that I've been looking for.
My name is Chatty from Markeedragon, I posted a response on your thread that I would be emailing you from this account.
I am Trustwho verified, but would be willing to go through any verification process you would like me to! I am an open book and have absolutely nothing to hide. I checked out your armory and he looks so sexy.

I have a few questions of you however...
-Would you be willing to show me him in-game, just to show that you own him?
-What form of payment do you accept? If it's Western Union, will you provide me a copy of your ID via text or e-mail? (I could do the same if you wish)
If it's PayPal, are you verified & confirmed? (as I am)

I have been a member of MD for a little over a year, and have been scammed twice trying to find a pally and a priest... I want to make sure it doesn't happen again... but I also want to make sure that you are 100% comfortable with me as well.

I look forward to hearing back from you as I would really love to have your pally!

But, the certified letter came back today as, "NO SUCH STREET." If you want a scanned copy of this letter or any other information regarding the interactions between chatty and myself, feel free to e-mail me on here. I'll scan it and sent it to you as I have nothing to hide.

I'm a legit guy looking to sell my tankadin just to make ends meet before I head back to Iraq in January. This was a little frustrating.

I'm not saying, "I know Chatty is a scammer," or anything like that. But, I wouldn't leave my Cheerios unattended in their presence... I will be spamming this on every message I see her post.

This is the first I've seen this thread since july last year. I havnt done much selling or trading with WoW lately and was interested in trading the priest and came across this thread.

07/7/09 I finally got ahold of chatty after doing ALOT of phone tag, as you can see on this thread. After I got ahold of her I explained what had happen after I received the western union check. (I was pulled over for speeding then come to find out i had a warrant for my arrest which I had no clue I had for child support 3 states away, and ended up having to get transferred back there until it was settled)

Chatty was still pretty pissed which I think is very understandable, I've had great rep up until chatty and bad things just happen sometimes and explained I Would give the rest of the info over, but chatty said no and wants the money back. So I said fine and sent the money back. (I think chatty wanted to buy a different toon anyway)

After sending the money back I spoke with chatty again and everything was fine. She was happy and I asked if she would retract her statement on my rep and she said she would so I left it at that. And didn't really log on MD to do much after that, when I did log on to get a L4D2 cd key I noticed she still didn't retract the statement and tried to get ahold of her with no lucky. Completly forgot about this thread until now and noticed her last statement.

She has the nerve to put on there I took the account back and your reporting it? Ofcourse I took the account back, you didn't want it!!!!!

So your all nice on the phone when you get the money back and say oh yeah im going to retract my statement and get it all cleared up, then go 2 faced and become an [censored].

You are NOT a professional member of MD. Sure I screwed up ONE time on MD..but you got everything you wanted. Could have kept the account with the rest of the info or get your money back and you wanted your money back probably cause you were tired of it anyway and wanted a new toon so I gave it back to you.

Just like the person 2 post above me, chatty is screwed up. And not a reliable person to deal with. Stay away from her if you can.
