I recently traded an account a few weeks ago. The said account is from a trustworthy person who may have been misinformed. Anyway when all account details were given the last name was correct phonetically, but misspelled (think ann / anne). The transfer became availible yesterday afternoon I went an purchased a new wow/tbc to xfer the toon to a new account.
At this time I did not know that the name was spelled incorrectly, thus when I attempted to xfer the toon I got the message "Does not meet qualifications for transfer blah blah blah"
This morning I called blizzard to tell them I'm having problems with my account because I can't transfer the toon. The guy asks for my last name I tell him "ann" he then asks "can you spell the last name?" A N N. He then tells me sorry sir but the last name on the account is anne.
In my frustration I tell him I just purchased a new wow/tbc yesterday and ask what can he do for me. He then tells me to hold on and then sends me an email asking for me to send in a photo I.D. to update the account. Of course I'm not going to do this, but now I know the last name on the account 100% to make the transfer.
My question to you all is should I be worried now? Is the account flagged somehow or whatever now that I called in with the wrong information, yet the correct last name was given to me? He told me what the correct last name on the account was probably thinking I just mistyped it during the initial creation.
Should I be worried about anything or should I just get a new wow/tbc and get this toon xfered?
