Account -> Account: So, can I .... ?

I have read a number of posts and guides that seem to indicate this is now possible but I'm not completely sure so I ask those much more in the know than I to respond if you would.

I have three accounts that I've purchased/traded for over the years. I have been the sole 'owner' on all of them for over a year now. However, I haven't played any of them in about 3 months. I am going to activate them again but would like to also move towards consolidation via a brand new Battle.net account (they have not been linked yet).

So, if I create a new Battle.net account in MY name and link these accounts and eventually transfer toons to the original Battle.net account am I asking for trouble? It also seems like the unlinking process is tedious and not easily done. If they remained linked is there any additional risk?

Thoughts? Should I just not worrry about it and set them up on their own B.net accounts? The obvious motivation is to reduce my monthly fee but if I can also gain an additional measure of security that would be great as well.

I've done it with 4 accounts and have not had any trouble YET.

I also haven't seen anyone else having trouble either, so right now I think it's okay, but try to keep low key with your IP.

Out of curiosity, how long have you had them merged? One of my biggest concerns is what Blizzard *may* do in the future.

Feel free to merge your accounts, their is no risk involved in merging em, in the future merging account will become mandatory.

B-net isn't a bad system, people just aren't used to it.

Thanks Momo but are you suggesting I should go ahead and merge all three to one B.net account and go ahead with toon transfers? What about unlinking the other accounts after I've transferred toons?

Depend what you wanna do, I would forget about un-merging an account once it get merged trough.

I've heard story of people getting their account ''un-merged'' but from my own experience is seem highly unlikely without much trouble.

Transferring the toons all up to one account can actually be a good way to save money in the long term.

I've had them merged almost since the battle.net system came out.

I have had my accounts merged. they were on a different name from the ones on the B.net and i have had no suspensions or anything yet. Don't think blizzard will do anything. Its safe to link it to B.net but it will give u a hard time in the future if you wanna sell it. Because most bulk buyers dont tend to buy Battle.net accounts. One way you can unlink is by saying you were keylogged and someone linked your account to battle.net, Thats one way i can think of. There are another Gabbilion ways. Think of some
