I'm sure I've missed something somewhere, but I couldn't find anything about this so I apologize in advance if I did miss it and if I could be directed to wherever it is I'd appreciate it:

I was recently scammed after buying an account through this website, I did not do my due diligence and paid for it. My own fault for not getting more info, didn't even get the guy's Epicnpc account, listed my skype and he messaged me. Never asked for it, so obviously this site can't do anything about it, that's okay.

So I'm buying another account for the same game, or trying to anyway. I message a guy who has offered to sell his account, he refuses to go first, won't use a middleman service, is rude when I try to explain why the account I use to sell gold for months and has several feedback (It would be a lot more feedback if I required it for every purchase but I think it's rude to pressure my buyers into giving feedback you know? I just feel like such an *** doing it, so I don't.), so I wouldn't scam. Now, he chose not to sell to me and that's perfectly okay, he's obviously allowed to make that choice. But honestly? He came across as a scammer, but he didn't scam me, what should I do? Should I report him? He hasn't technically done anything wrong. Should I/can I, post in his selling thread to warn others about him, not to say he's a scammer, just for people to be careful I guess or at least recommend a middleman, something? Again he's done nothing wrong, but he gave me a really bad vibe and I don't want to see someone else get scammed if I could have warned them I'd feel negligent, but I also don't want to get my account into trouble for warning people about someone who MIGHT scam not who HAS scammed.

After how ****ty I felt for getting myself scammed recently, I just don't want to see it happen to someone else. To make matters worse the account that I did lose I happened to buy for a friend, so I feel extra dumb about it.

If you bothered to read that rambly-wall-of-text thanks! If you can also give me an answer on what I can do/should do, double thanks.

If you believe someone might be a scammer, but don't have proof, report them to a moderator or me and we'll do a quick check of their account to see what we can find. Some times we see they're indeed a returning scammer and we reban them.

Do not post in the thread saying they're a scammer or accusing him of anything. That's not allowed.

If you're not sure about someone, but really want the account or item, you can always offer to pay extra if they get Verified or at least upgrade to "Epic Member". Epic Member only requires Paypal and phone verification and is very cheap to buy. If you offer to pay extra to cover the fee and they still refuse, then I would walk away from the deal because it's highly likely they're a scammer and they know they'll get caught if they try to upgrade.

Changing phone numbers and Paypal account info to upgrade an account takes time, it can be done, but scammers generally don't do. The reason is because because they know they'll get banned shortly after then will have to file a Paypal dispute which will freeze their account and cause other problems. Then they'll have to pay to get another phone number, so while it's possible, it's a pain to do.

Dealing with only upgraded members is the best way to stay safe.

Alright thanks. I'm not worried about getting scammed again, I didn't do my due diligence and paid for it, I doubt it happens again. I just felt really put off by the guy and wasn't sure what I could do to try and protect others. I figured I couldn't post in their thread or anything but honestly have had trouble finding the rules for such a thing, I'm sure they're somewhere obvious and I'm just blind though.

I'll do as suggested and hope he's legit and was just being difficult rather than trying to scam, is there any way in particular to report people? I saw the disputes section but it didn't seem to have a category for something like this, should I just PM you or a moderator, or is there an actual report feature of some kind on these boards, it's not the 'report a post' button I'm assuming.

And I just found the 'forum rules' button at the top between quick links and currency! So I'll give them a quick read while I'm at it.
