I won't be closing the auctions early this time and I'll pursue all offers, since last time a couple offers ended up being retracted (or were just fake). Also reduced the price to as low as I'll go... even at $299, it feels like I'm throwing it away (along with my gaming integrity). But I genuinely just do not game anymore. So I hope it's seen as a fair starting price.

I encourage you to use either auction website for 'bidding' convenience, but this forum site is quite nice I've found over the last week so we can use this medium if we must, too.

Thanks and I hope I can find a new home for my High Warlord. It's a major part of my hardcore gaming history over the last 15+ years, so I would love to see it in the hands of a gamer that really loves (or would have loved) the classic WoW war era (and the idea of RvR, faction war, Horde pride, etc).

ACCOUNT DESCRIPTION:

Auction is for the following WoW account:

High Warlord Orc Warrior Rank 14 (one of the first on the server)
Scout Orc Warrior Rank 1

Account and characters were all created on day 1 of WoW's launch.

They have their original name, server, faces, etc. Nothing has been changed, transfered, etc.

The High Warlord has over 100,000 Honorable Kills. The 'name' was quite known on both the server and on the General Forum of WoW, in terms of 'server events'. You're welcome to assume the identity of this High Warlord, as I assume that should be part of the appeal of buying this character - the 'legacy' of it. You are certain be recognized with respect on rare occasions (I suppose people who remember the Ahn'Qiraj War or Hillsbrad wars are few and far between now). The character also has a lot of collectable items, like the original High Warlord weapons and armor, many quest items from Lv1-60, and so forth.

The High Warlord character reached Lv70 and went to Northrend, but did not reach Lv80. He has very little gold... basic questing gear. No real tangible Lv80 gameplay value.

But those things can still acquired with a bit of work. This character cannot be replicated anymore.

The worth is the legacy of having an original WoW character and an original High Warlord.

That may be very little to some but I'm hoping to find a new gamer to take over my legacy and do it respect, and thus shares the same value for such an account as I do.

If I were you, do not sell it.

I wish I never sold my original druid/mage. My druid got only to Commander status back in the day, but man it was fun doing the pvp runs of wsg and ab to get honor.

Keep it because you can't put a value on that stuff---trust me and learn from my mistake. Just keep the account dormant instead of making a measley few hundred bucks.

it is a plus to be non bnet linked because it makes it more safe and less likely to be recalled

Guy that I mentioned above exchanged a lot of PMs with me (and we chatted about old playing stories too), but he's been queit for about 24 hours now since we were about to make the exchange. So, still for sale at this point.

It was so much easier back in the eBay day. It never took me more than one auction haha and their was always open bidding and smooth transactions.

Met up with one guy on MMOBay that I've been talking with... he offered me $350 buyout.

May sell it to him over the weekend. Truthfully, part of me wants to just keep the account yet :\ Haven't played MMOs seriously in ages yet still attached to this character yet.

Guy that made the offer is a former HWL too. We've been chatting about guild vs guild AVs and world PvP haha.

He's hoping it wins me over to sell it to him (genuinely of course as a HWL peer) yet it's having the opposite effect of making me want to keep the account and play.

Still think I'll sell though. Open to all offers but $350 buyout to this ex-HWL guy (who seems pretty cool) is appealing.

If the buyer wants help assuming the identity of the character, by the way, I'm welcome to help.

I'm hoping to find someone who sees that as part of the appeal. I put a lot of passion and hours into the reputation of the character. I never cross-teeamed or account-shared the character. I was active in both organizing the server community but also with Blizzard on both live and in beta (if my character becomes your character, you can find old posts of me/you talking with Blizzard about gameplay, events and news, etc).

I was always pretty stoic and dry, but very helpful and prideful for my realm and server, so you'd be inheriting a character that made a lot of friends. Never famous as laintime or Pat (mostly because I didn't believe in getting my class nerfed) but if you become this HWL, you will be recognized and recognized kindly.

I'm really hoping to find someone who respects that... preferably someone who played back during the true 'war' era of WoW (or was playing an actual 'war' game like Shadowbane or DAOC) back then.... has Horde pride (please don't turn my orc HWL into a belf or gnome).... And just general passion for Warcraft.

Now of course, I just want to sell the account. Make me the best offer and its likely yours.

But even though I'm not a gamer anymore, and I am ending that chapter for now (at least for a decade until I retire), I still have a lot of passion for gaming, so if I can find someone who has the same passion as I did to bring new life to the legacy of my HWL, then I would be very happy.

 

Hahaha yeah I was thinking, wow this is familiar.

Same account. It got a bunch of interest but the two 'serious' offers at the original price did not work out/or were fake. So going to try at a lower price. Got a lot of initial interest over night so I think the starting price is more fair.

Crazy how much WoW has changed though. Back in 2005, my offers for it had an extra 0 on the end. Even my DAOC and UO accounts all broke 4 digits. MMO genre as a whole has changed a lot though. Happy I kept and continued playing the account in 2005 anyhow. 05/early 06 were awesome gaming in WoW.

Getting rid of basically RPG everything right now (mmo accounts, rare snes/ps1 rpgs, etc) but maybe once I'm near retirement and need (have time) for hobbies again, I'll return haha.

 

I had some old guildies back when I played pre-BC that lived in Kamloops. He and his wife were the guild leaders. The wife was the MT and he pretty much healed and gave direction.

However we were alliance at the time on Stormscale US.
