Hi,

Been playing WOW for over a year, but decided to call it quits a few weeks ago.

My shadow priest is my only level 70 character, (I own the account, original owner) so put a lot of time into it (raided on average 5 nights a week and played daily). Before calling it a day was in one of the top guilds on EU-Hellfire (PVE server) which had just cleared BT before I quit playing. Have killed Vashj and Kael so have the Hand of Adal ranking from completing the relevant quests to enter MH/BT (did before the patch when the requirement was removed).

Got a few months account time left (bad idea to pay 6 months in advance in hindsight :-)) so got a few months to sell this character, so in no rush.

Made some Armouryclone links, great tool.

PVP Shadow Gear http://armoryclone.com/id.php?id=1205153

About 6 weeks before stopping playing I realised there's no future in Shadow PVP so started building a Discipline set (Discipline is where it's at in Priest PVP, out last your enemy :-)). So the above gear is a mix of shadow and disc gear, but it's still a great set for farming battleground honor when not raiding (I hated respeccing just to do BGs after raids).

Done similar mixing of gear with the Disc set which has 433 res and over 1600 +healing (mixing PVP shadow and PVP Disc gear means you get 2 resilience bonuses allowing the use of PVE gear).

I have more S1 shadow gear, so more gear options available (I like the above one though, good balance).

PVP Disc Gear http://armoryclone.com/id.php?id=1072808

I also have more PVP gear (S1) in the bank so can pretty much max out resilience if you want, have all the main PVP trinkets as well, so lots of choice in PVP gear builds. Also have almost 50,000 honor and a minimum of 37 of each battleground tokens, so could convert 37*4 (trade in one of each for around 300 honor) of those tokens to another 11K honor (and still have more BG tokens left, short WSG ones for even more honor, have 98 AV BG tokens now, 37 WSG which limits easy honor right now to 11K).

PVE Healing Gear http://armoryclone.com/id.php?id=828840

Have never played Holy so this is spare gear others in the guild didn't need or vendor items to help originally with my PVP Disc set (before buying gear with honor/arena pts). Was thinking about trying out Holy in Kara, SSc and TK before I quit playing, but never got around to it. Got 1875 bonus healing (in shadow spec) while lacking a gem (got a set of T6 gloves for healing as no one needed them in the raid just before I quit so didn't gem it) and some enchants are missing, so could probably get to +2000 bonus healing in a short amount of time. Like I said never speccd holy, but understand this gear should be more than enough for healing SSC/TK and maybe some of MH/BT (all depends on the quality of the guild you get in I guess). Definitely more than enough for a backup healer when your guild is lacking a healer.

PVE Shadow Gear http://armoryclone.com/id.php?id=7284216

My PVE shadow raid gear includes a couple of T6 items and all the rest is high level epics from raiding Kara, Grull, Mag, SSC, TK, MH, BT and the odd vendor item. Fully raid buffed can get over 1350 shadow dmg (was the main SP, out of 3 in the guild at the time of quiting). Had been in the guild about 9 months and raided with them from early SSC to all the way to Illidan (that is a cool fight). Unbuffed the gear above gives 1195 shadow dmg, this includes 2 trinkets with no +dmg, the blessings trinket adds 80 dmg and the Ashtongue trinket (from BT) adds 220 spell dmg for 10 seconds roughly every 10th tick of your shadow word pain. This brings shadow dmg up a lot, there's a relatively east to get trinket from the new 5 man Sunwell instance that is better than the Ashtongue trinket, but I was unlucky in the half a dozen runs I did.

I also have two other trinkets for farming (non raid times) since those two above are terrible for trash that dies quickly (great for boss fights though). Have the T5 legs, but they aren't as good dmg wise as the Kara legs.

This set is my best raiding gear (have a slightly better wrist item (from MH) in the bank, got it recently that needs an enchant and gem to take to 1204 shadow dmg unbuffed) and outputs great DPS and should get anyone who purchases this character into a good end game raiding guild. Of the 3 SPs raiding in the guild I had the best gear and was invited to 99% of raids (we raided 25 man instances 5 nights a week). On the EU-Hellfire realm there was a general shortage of SPs on the Horde side, gear wise I'd be in the top 5 geared SPs.

Also got 173 badges of justice which can be used for an upgrade to the new vendor mace (nice upgrade for 150 badges) and I have more than enough shadow primals for the shadow dmg weapon enchant needed on it.

Got all keys available.

This character has maxed herbalism and alchemy (got the vast majority of recipes). Managed to learn the nature http://thottbot.com/i32851 and shadow cauldrons http://thottbot.com/i32852 which helped the guild get through many bosses in BT a lot easier than without them. If your not familiar with cauldrons look them up, they are really useful in BT.

Got multiple alts with filled banks of various mats (lots of potions and herbalism mats mostly). Can make a lot of gold through selling mana/health pots as a pot master. I guess I've got a few thousand golds worth of mats in the bank, I'm a bit of a mats saver :-) Obviously got the epic mount including the Netherwing Drake so you don't need to farm the 5K gold or the Netherwing rep. Since this will be a transfer (I believe this is the best way to sell an account) will fill the bank and bag slots with useful mats.

Almost forgot, one last gear type.

Shadow Resistance set: (armoury doesn't work with resistance!)

If you've not raided BT before there's a boss that needs decent shadow resistance gear for the majority of the raid members including SPs, we found anything over 300 shadow resistance was enough and I have gear that with the Priest shadow res buff (self buffed 70 shadow res) and a 2hr 35 resistance flask (which I could make myself) I could max out Shadow resistance (max is 365, I can get to 368). After we learned the fight I would no longer use the 2hr 35 resistance flask (my shadow resistance 333 which is more than enough) and use the Death Flask instead (+80 dmg).

I also farmed a rare world drop potion that gives 50 resistance for all schools of magic, actually got 2 of them in 5 mins after farming a lvl 50 area for bloody weeks! So used one and kept the other to sell on the AH (never got around to it). So if your in a guild that's not been able to farm the hearts of darkness (takes months of raiding MH/BT) for shadow resistance gear you can make these for the raid to help out (with this and the 35 res flask you can get someone with 0 shadow res gear to 155 shadow res!).

If I missed something important let me know.

Looking for offers around £600 ($1200) and will include a character transfer in the price. I'll fill spare bank and bags slots with useful mats (mana pots, primals for enchants etc.) so you can hit the ground running so to speak.

Was reading that sending an in game mail to the person making an offer confirms an armoury link without having to arrange a time for both parties to be on WOW (which can be difficult). Since I'm not actively playing WOW can send a mail to an alt of yours on the EU-Hellfire realm so you can confirm I own the above character (will leave the Shadow PVE raiding gear on for armoury inspection).

I don't use AIM, MSN messenger or similar, so can either negotiate through this forum (PMs) or email (prefer email as require an email through a trackable email account to confirm your IP in case of problems), will provide my business email address which the domain is associated with me. I own the domain and whois uses my mailing address which will help confirm I haven't hacked this account or anything. My business is the main reason for stopping playing, spent way too much time playing WOW (damn game is so addictive :-))

After that can arrange a suitable time to talk in game with serious offers so you can confirm the other gear I mention above etc...

Understand there's quite a lot of people trying to con others at selling/buying characters, so happy to jump through any reasonable hoops to prove I own this character.

I expect similar in return. Whatever payment method you use will send a letter to the associated snail mail address and have the buyer confirm it's contents. So you need to be PayPal verified if using Paypal, since the address associated with the PayPal account you'll be using will be where I send the letter. This will also help confirm the buyer agreed to a purchase if anything goes wrong.

I run an online business and can take payments through PayPal (Verified) or WorldPay http://www.worldpay.com/ (been using them for years with my business). Bank tranfer acceptable as well.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS/QUESTIONS
Still not the right price then, £450 no offers.

That's my rock bottom price as took over a year to build my Shadow Priest gear!

David

Thanks for the warning about accountsbay.com, wasn't planning on selling to them anyway.

Had read about IP addresses etc... and banned accounts, I'm in the UK so assume selling to someone in the UK is the best course of action, with Europe also acceptable?

Does it make sense to not log into the account a few days so you don't have a situation where a UP IP logins in followed by a European IP an hour later? Not possible to travel from the UK to Europe in an hour (I lack a private jet :-)).

New price £500, get yourself a BT ready Shadow Priest today.

Will post here when the character is sold, so until then it's available (don't have the time to bump this every day).

I sold ACCOUNTSBAY 30+ accounts, several months ago and within a month over half of those accounts had been banned for being accessed from a Chinese IP address, Exploitation of the Economy, and 3rd Party Programs.

These accounts where the only accounts I have EVER had banned in the 200+ accounts I have sold. I found out about the first issue when I contacted them to sell them another account, and AFTER giving them the full account information they informed me that I had an account that had been banned, and that they where going to keep the account that they just quoted me $150 USD for in exchange for the one that was banned.

They then proceeded to file numerous Unauthorized Transactions claims with PayPal, costing me a total of over $1,000 USD in losses. They have downright criminal business ethics, and are nothing more than common thieves. They purchase accounts and then bot / gold farm / exploit as much as possible until the account gets banned, and then file PayPal chargebacks and get their money back.

They are a Chinese company (as I was told by their employees), that uses flaws in PayPal's policies to commit fraud against their customers.

They use being in China as a way to avoid prosecution. Please read:

WARNING: THEY USE MULTIPLE USERNAMES TO COMMIT FRAUD!!!

They have continuously been banned and continue making new user names to commit fraud.

I say, I say, I say bump I say

Offers around £525

Didn't think I'd get £600, but was worth a try :-)

New price £525 or very near offer.

Also noticed forgot to say how much gold the character has, you'll get around 1,000 gold.

Making a change or two in the offer to make for a fair transaction where both parties have reasonable protection. My son is also going to use this information for selling his character at http://www.markeedragon.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/1358435/.

Due to the nature of buying/selling WOW accounts there is no way to stop a seller from later recovering the account (secret questions gives them that ability) and so the buyer requires some protection for if this occurs. Only real protection is the ability to recover their money.

Researched buying and selling WOW accounts and the most popular payment forms is what contributes to the majority of scam problems.

Bank to bank transfer

The buyer will find it difficult (almost impossible) to recover their payment if the seller recovers the account later (and it's very easy to recover with the secret answer). This makes it a poor choice for the buyer and for that reason won't expect it. If you want no protection as a buyer feel free to use it though we won't complain :-)).

PayPal

The buyer can recover payment easily, too easily because PayPal has a habit of issuing chargebacks even when a seller has proved the account sale (it's a problem with virtual goods). This makes it a poor payment choice for the seller and for that reason we won't accept it (I and my son both have verified PayPal accounts, mine is also a business account though I don't respect PayPal as a serious payment provider).

So the two main payment choices used by most buyers/sellers are far from ideal, so payment is through WorldPay http://www.worldpay.com/

Paying with WorldPay is the same as making an order from any online shop with your credit/debit card. As an online merchant I've used them for credit/debit card processing for over 5 years with no major problems.

If buyers understood the difficulty in obtaining a WorldPay account (or any merchant type account for that matter) and that repeatedly abusing one results in it's termination where unlike PayPal you can use another email address to open a new PayPal account for free the same day, it costs money just to have an account like this (so not something I want to loose). They'd appreciate having this type of payment option in itself proves trustworthiness to a much higher degree than using PayPal verified for example.

I'll also prove through email who I am, where I live (which can be confirmed by snail mail if you choose), that I own an online business (and that business is associated with my WorldPay account and address) and through talking ingame that I (or my son) own the character you wish to purchase.

After a price is agreed, you pay the agreed amount through WorldPay (we'll supply a payment link by email, thinking about making an online order page to be more professional). As long as the security checks made by WorldPay at the time of entering your payment details are matched (address must match the card holders, you must know the CSV code for example) I'll send you by recorded delivery a snail mail to the card holders address** the following details in the form of a paid invoice/receipt for what you are purchasing.

**If the card holders address doesn't match I'll refund the payment and cancel the order (it must match and no PO Boxes please).

What you are purchasing

Exclusive use of the following.....

New (unused) CD Keys for The World of Warcraft and The World of Warcraft Burning Crusade (2 CD keys total).
Account details (a new account, see below) including username, password, secret question and answer and last name of account holder (though you'll already know our last name). Everything you need to gain access to the account and character you purchased. This information will not be supplied to anyone else (for payment or for free) or be used by us (myself or my son) after the transaction is completed (you will have exclusive use of the CD keys, account and character).

I (or my son) will initiate a transfer of the character you are buying to a new account, with the EU-realm and character name change of your choice (included in the agreed price).

I think the transfer will be complete and ready for you to play by the time you get the invoice in the post (should be within 48hrs in the UK, day or two later for Europe). When the letter arrives you will find a unique code, email us with that code and the email address on the account will be changed to the one you specified (that will be the last time we access the new account). At this point the transaction will be completed and you should change the login password.

Basically you are buying exclusive access/use of the CD keys and WOW account/character and our agreement never to use the CD keys or recover our access to the account/character. In return you make a one off payment to us and keep up the monthly subscription payments for as long as you wish to use the account/character.

If we recover the account while you meet the above conditions this will be a breach of contract (by us) and you have the right to start chargeback proceedings (and you should consider a small claims case). If you start chargeback proceedings while we meet the above conditions this will be a breach of contract (by you) and we have the right to recover the account/character (and will probably start a small claim against you).

Since the account login details etc... are sent to the card holders home address only (will not send them via email unless your address can be verified another way, see later) and they have to sign for the letter (recorded delivery or equivalent if not in the UK) this pretty much guarantees the card holder has agreed to buy the character etc...

If the buyer makes a chargeback without good cause this information can be presented to WorldPay during the chargeback dispute stage to prove the buyer authorised the payment and so defend the chargeback.

Since the buyer will be using their credit/debit card (credit card has most protection for a buyer) if something goes wrong (for example I or my son recovers an account without good cause) you can go to your credit card company and start a chargeback (just like with any online credit card payment). Supply your credit card company with all relevant details and if we try to rip you off you'll get your money back through WorldPay and I'll get a black mark on my WorldPay account (if I did this sort of thing on a regular basis I'd loose the account).

I'll be using this payment method for my character (selling a Shadow Priest) and my sons (selling a Lock) we both played WOW on the same server, same guild and he quit a day or two after I did. You can see his character offer at http://www.markeedragon.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/1358435/ where he will post this information as a comment as well.

I'll deal with negotiations for my character and my son will deal with negotiations for his. When it comes to payment both will go through my business via WorldPay. Going to try to setup a quick ordering page for each character and upload it to my business website.

I've initiated this change because twice my son has got a full price offer (£500 and one was for more than the asking price, £550) for his character and both have wanted login details before making a payment (could have been scammers or real buyers with trust issues, unfortunately he couldn't take the risk).

There's a big risk in giving login details prior to payment, nothing stopping the buyer removing the characters gold, (sending it to one of their characters on the same realm), deleting the character for the hell of it or maybe even try to sell it to one of the automated account buying websites (would that work BTW, are they fully automated?). They can also login to your account and change the login password temporarily locking you out the account (I understand it's easy to recover with the secret answer, but we shouldn't have to take this risk as sellers).

So anyone making an offer on either of these characters please do not waste our time asking for any login details, you will not get them until payment is made through WorldPay and even then it will be sent through the mail unless you can verify your address@@.

@@If you can prove the card holders address is yours, we will still send the recorded delivery snail mail as detailed above, but can also supply the new accounts login details (username and password only) by email so you can access the account faster. One way to prove your address would be to supply a telephone number that is associated with the card holders address (we must be able to confirm this through a reputable source). By calling your number we confirm you are the card holder and so can safely supply login details. You still need to make the payment first.

Not going to pretend to be an expert on buying/selling accounts, (not sold one yet :-)) but have sold a lot of items online over the last 5+ years and the above is the fairest/safest way I can think of for buying/selling an account. If anyone sees an error in the process or a way to make it fairer/safer please let me know.

barwow my email to you bounced back due to -

"the user's maildir is over the allowed quota (size : 21756090)"

After reading your post I don't think your serious about buying the account, so unless you say you are interested won't email again.

My son is trying to sell his account as well, (lvl 70 lock) we both played together and both quit the same time (same guild). He spent most of today dealing with a potential buyer who insisted on having access to the character prior to the buyer making a payment and so the deal fell through. He'd already purchased CD keys for the transfer, so theoretically (if he never finds a buyer) lost money.

Sounded like a scammer to me, but if not is this a frequent requirement of buyers due to all the scams?

This will be my first character sale and it's the first time in thousands of online transactions that I'm seriously concerned about being ripped off after I've taken a payment!

I run an online business and take credit/debit cards through a company called WorldPay (seriously considering having it as the only payment method for my and my sons sale). I also take payments through PayPal for an "in my spare time" business selling website themes, but don't consider PayPal a serious payment solution so don't use it on my main business sites.

From all those credit/debit card transactions over 5+ years I've had one fraudulent payment get through WorldPay (lost less than £50). Had plenty of fraudulent orders, (sold clothing for 2 yrs and when someone from Africa orders 20 pairs of expensive leather trousers there's something wrong :-)) but all but one was easy to spot.

Anyway have read quite a lot about buying/selling accounts now and if I understand things correctly it works like this with the two main ways for buying/selling accounts (PayPal and bank transfer).

Buyer pays with a bank transfer, they pretty much can't get their money back without going to court (I have to admit to only having made/taken a handful of payments this way, so not 100% sure how it works). From a seller perspective this is great, but buyer not so good if they are unfortunate enough to be scammed. If I was buying I wouldn't use a bank transfer.

Buyer pays with PayPal, the buyer can issue a chargeback at the drop of a hat and pretty much get their money back because there's no product delivered (or at least this makes things worse for the seller). PayPal has a reputation of issuing chargebacks way too easily. If a buyer scams an account this way the sellers only recourse is to use the secret question to recover the account, though if I understand things correctly if the buyer transfers the character again (21 days for transfer to be up right?) they may loose the character despite recovering the account!!

So for PayPal the buyer is protected, but the seller isn't.

Oh and at anytime since in Blizzards eyes the account still belongs to the seller (can't change the name on the account) as long as they have the secret question the seller can recover the account quite easily.

Have I missed anything?

If I've understood this correctly it's no wonder scams are so prevalent in this area!
