will blizzards new game Heroes of the Storm make it?
 
I don't think it'll make it. At first when we got to see early release and beta, I thought it would be the game that killed all the other MOBAs. After receiving beta, I noticed it wasn't as fun as it looked like. It doesn't even feel like a MOBA game.

It's more like PvE. Basically, you just do objectives like killing monsters in order to summon creatures with a lot of health that helps you push. That's something I don't like.
And the second thing is that there's no items to purchase in the game. What I really liked though is their unique skill-up system. Loved how you could select your own passives and spell functions depending on their team and the situation.

Anyhow for now I'll just stick to League of Legends. :)
 
i have both, put money in both, "lol" and "HOTS" as darvin says it HOTS dosnt even feel like a moba, i mean you dont purchase items you level up to gain your strnegth through global xp from doing pve objectives. however i dont think it will die i think blizzard will push it like SC2 ect and use there blizz fan boys to push its ratings ect. i like both games but lol is better imo. im into cs now any ways and selling my leauge account. i got a post in one of the csgo forums or can pm if u intrested in a "diamond borded from season4" fresh 0/10 ranked season 5 all champions 200+ skin account EUW" :)
 
^ The above posters are right; Blizzard has yet to release a 'failed' game. They're taking their time with it though, which is good. It's been in Alpha/Beta for a year or so now, but it definitely isn't a MOBA in the traditional sense. Not as fun nor challenging as LoL, Dota 2, or SMITE in my opinion.
 
Lmao i agree that blizzard never made a game that failed at start.

But anyone who says blizzard never made a fail game should look at what they produced and added to that. Panda's in wow? Diablo 3 sucked at launch. But blizzard has such a big fanbase and such good titles under there belt from the day of diablo 1 they never fail a game at launch.

HOTS is fun a bit diffrent but not so much a lol ripoff or a lol copy. Does that mean bad? No!

I know many people that quit dota and lol to play hearoes of storm it provides a totally different kind of playstyle that some people like and some don't it all comes down to personal preference but I believe it will make it might not be a top hit but for sure a medium community
 
I really hope it crash and burn. Mainly because I despise blizzard and what they have become, but also because dota games are so god damn annoying. too popular and there's just too many moba games popping up.

But I'm 100% sure it will succeed, like blizzard games usually do. Even though their not that great anymore. I'm probably just too old and grumpy for their **** anymore.

Unfortunately, I don't think it will make it. It's an extremely fun game, and I personally enjoy it much more than League of Legends (Maybe because I've been playing for nearly 4 years) but it's just an extremely refreshing game and it's so much less frustrating.
 
Sadly Blizzard joined the party really late compared to its counterparts HoN/ Smite/ DOTA / and especially League of Legends which holds majority of eSports fans, of course there is room for an intresting game like HoTs, but i don't believe it will ever reach any spotlight in comparison to the others. (But i am looking foward to Overwatch) and also loved Hearthstone so i guess blizzard has enough glory to have one okay game just ignoring Diablo 3 since I personally had high hopes for it. :( (Granted all this is just my opinion no hate no love just my input)

Personally I think it will do well enough in the casual scene but it's not going to last long-term because it's just not competitive enough to get a really hardcore following.

Hots is really diffrent game than LoL or Dota. It has other mechanic, and goals are kinda simmilar buy yet diffrent. Thats why it can really make it, and find it place now when blizz bought MLG. They will try to boost it through that and favor it. Mark my words !
 
I enjoy both league and HoTs for different reasons, HoTs I find to be more PVE and has really fun gimmicks for you to focus on, I've also found even if you're losing up to the very last second if you kill the enemy team once you win, which can be silly but also be super fun. I find some of the abilities more fun and it's cool to run around as a 2 headed ogre. I play league for a more competitive challenge and because I love how you can change your build with the items you buy

I think it'll make it, not as big as dota 2 or league but it's fun enough for anyone looking for a shorter and more simplified game than other mobas.
