Now I am basically lost on this site. Why not stick with the black skin?

Oh, and BTW, you need to change your location time, it's curently set to GMT +O, so you need to change it to whichever area you're at.
Do this by clicking settings, looking on the left side for general account settings, and there is a time deal there.

Also, when in the general settings, be sure to turn on allow Sigs, avatars, and Pictures if you want to see them as well.

I agree with the other posters above, I am not digging this skin too much at all.

Did the TWV information transfer over to this site also?

Guys, calm down. The new board has been open for less then a day. Give it time. If any of you read and didn't jump to conclusions you would realize that there will be a version of the old skin available within a short amount of time. (You will have either skin option)

Guys like Btraill said, take it easy. VB forum werent coded the same way UBBforum were so of course a lots of stuff is broken, the mmobay guys will fix it. There gonna be a ton of new cool option were gonna be able to pull.

I don't know why so many people are complaining. There are going to be two different skin options in the future; a darker one, and a lighter one. vBulletin is probably the best forum-ware on the web and UBB was getting old. The new forums have been open for like..an hour now? Give it time. Most of the stuff on this site are simple fixes at this point and they'll probably all be fixed within a few days. Just spend this time editing old posts, sigs, avatars, and forum options if you're going to complain.

Most of this stuff has been said already, but ya.

Thanks for the new forums, Mike.

The problem for me is not the skin but the traffic. As of 3 weeks ago, the traffic has fall off DRASTICALLY. I assumed that is would happen, but not by the margin that we are looking at now. Instead of having 400-500 people viewing WoW forums, you now have 18-25 people viewing them.

There needs to be some serious change in the future, otherwise you guys are just beating a dead dog all the way into syndication.

Yep, my thoughts exactly..

Sigh.

too many changes are happening too quickly and people are getting lost in the cracks, If the forums were up like this from the beginning it would of been ok but the changes have really hurt it badly. We'll see how it comes out though pray for the best

This is bad, bad, bad. And I mean that in the most polite way possible because I know things like this are not free.

Reason 1: Too complicated. Yes the UBB forums were old, but they were popular and because they were old, they were simple. Go look at any of the most popular websites on the web. Simple=better. More buttons, more options, that's all great for savvy users, but most people don't want to take the time to figure it out. Now we're talking about all these options: Show sigs, don't show, show pics, don't show, show white skin, show black skin etc etc...

Well what if you're selling something and you have a picture of it and the user doesn't know how to turn on the show pictures option, or never even thought of it? What if your sig brings you alot of traffic but new users aren't showing sigs and aren't even aware of the fact that they're missing something?

Is every user really expected to go turn on and off a bunch of options and to be aware that they need to do so? How many people start messing with options as soon as they arrive at a website? None that I know. What you see is what you get on first arrival, and it sounds like they wont see half the site and therefore wont get much of anything.

Reason 2: TWV. It was the cornerstone of markee trust and it seems to have vanished; or at least accessibility of it has become more complicated. And what is this "review" that has replaced it? I see reviews for people I know are not MD users. Can I trust these people? How do people get reviews? Are they TWV? Are they verified in any way? How does this new system work? Do we all need a tutorial?

Reason 3: Traffic. Or I suppose, lack-there-of. I have seen plenty of websites do this and it always ends terribly; there is too much going on too quickly, you are hemorrhaging members. First the markee forums move. You lose some people, but it had to be done and you kept most of your members during that move because all that changed was the URL. Then the forums were dead for maintenance the past 2 days, no doubt losing some members and anyone new. Now the URL has changed AGAIN, right when people were getting used to the other one. And worst of all, the entire forum has changed, the rules have changed, and anyone who browsed markee here and there would be confused as to how the hell any of this new stuff works or what any of it means.

These forums have more options, but these kinds of forums are made for being, well, forums. People come and talk and share pictures(if they turn it on of course O.o). What markee was doing was something entirely different, and it made sense that their forum was entirely different for that reason. Old, sure. But simple, and sleek. Easy for new users to maneuver through, and easy to understand.

It all seems pointless. Why move to a new forum? I have heard people say UBB was old. Who cares if it was from the stone-age, the point is...it worked. It worked very well. I'm confused as to why anyone would change that.

Yes it's only the first day, but giving it time wont change much unless there is a whole change in direction...which seems rather doubt-able.

Change for change's sake never works. And if the reason for this drastic change was really "UBB is old," then that is very disappointing.

Sigoftheweek.com was the most popular sig design website on the entire internet. One night, reveling in their success and wishing to go even further, they decided to give it a new feel with new skins and new options. Everyone lost interest when the old site vanished. Sigoftheweek.com no longer exists. I hope the past is not in that terrible and usual habit of repeating itself.

P.S. On that whole light dark thing. Make dark the default and do not expect everyone to through and change it themselves. Rather than leaving light as the default. Just like the others, I am getting a headache from looking at this, it's like staring into a blizzard. :/

Mighty is right, as of now. The forums feel nothing like a buy and sell forum should imo. It definitely feels like a forum where people would come and discuss things... Not to buy/trade/sell. I would like to know why we upgraded too. I'm not trying to criticize the new staff or anything but we don't really need any NEW features other than gtfo scammer features which I'm sure could be done on ubb as much as vBulletin even if it wasn't I doubt anyone would make a fuss about it because there isn't much we can do.

Now it just feels like this forum has become a bad sequel to the original forums >.>.

Guys, criticizing to this point how a forum looks within the same day it opened is pointless. I understand the criticism for bugs, functionality, and actual software changes, however; why such criticism for how it looks? Looks are and will be changed, and by changing the looks along comes changing how it feels. Everything requires time, and right now, none of you are giving it.

It's not that at all b, it's more of complete confusion than criticism. Yes making these forums look right and function like the old ones will take a very long time. So I suppose the million dollar question is: Why are we on these forums?

If they insisted on new forums for the sake of newness...why not do the obvious thing and put these forums on a test server and make them look and function correctly BEFORE trying to pull the whole community to them.

Giving them time to work everything out is fine, but this why you don't use regular members to beta test your material. Because while they are ironing out kinks and making this look right, they will lose a few more confused or aggravated people every day.

NO, the reason they changed skin is because theyre like michael jackson. BUT we all know once u go black u never go BACK
