If I traded a WoW account for WoW gold, and the account that receives the gold gets banned because Blizzard catches me.

Would they have to compensate me, or would it be my loss since they didn't really do anything wrong?

Your loss since the other person had nothing to do with you losing what they gave me/traded/sold you.
