What is the standard for credit selling in swtor ?

I REPEAT, this post is to HELP mmoprotector and other sellers and myself and community come to a right credit value system...it's NOT a scam post, or anything negative, the game is new, and this is a POSITIVE post, and a stimulus to get this market moving....

After talking to MMOPROTECTOR (i have nothing against them, and im trying to help them ) I made this posts after an instant message debate with their seller, asking for info on their pricing ( i wanted to buy some credits )............he said it's 0.65 / per 1k credits.........Now according to my experience with the game, I already have 8k credits at level 10 without any hardcore gaming or selling.........and now my companions can make over 100 credits on a single little mission.... so if im correct, his prices are a little high, and i was trying to talk sense into him....to compare with wow

1-100 credits = copper in wow

100-1000 credits = silver in wow

1k credits = 1 gold in wow

can others if they actually PLAY the game confirm with me? or am i just going nuts ?

I repeat, this post is NOT meant to defame or put down mmoprotector, it's more of an inquiry to help him offer me a better price, for myself and others.

I will post aim conversation here.... the game just released, so please excuse them for not knowing the proper credit value...... and if i'm wrong, please just delete this post lol

His prices seem pretty standard for the current market. The game is new, there is not a lot of credits in the economy, and a lot of players want to buy their speeders.

Prices seem to be around $6.50-8.00 per 10k.

I'm looking to sell a lot of credits on The Swiftsure for a lot less than that market rate though.

i thought they way things go is ...supply and demand..... so if low level characters can get 10k credits with no sweat (level 10 players)...than i just don't get these prices....

When there are VIP mounts that have a fixed price of 1.5 million credits, there is no way 1k credits is 0.65. That would mean the mount anyone can purchase would be $975, which clearly makes no sense. The game is new, not many are near level cap or focusing on purchasing items, so it's a mess right now. I'd say wait a month when the market balances out and the sellers realize you can make 1k in 30 seconds. Also, why would you even need to buy credits this early in the game??

That's the exact thing i was thinking about the credits..... i may have to wait a month...or....credit values for purchase can be adjusted.... as to why do i need to buy credits? i don't "need" to buy credits...but i have powerleveled a character that's almost level 50, and wouldn't mind a few extra credits......

Yea, the best bet is to just hold off unless you want it bad enough to pay that much. But yea, when items are costing hundreds of thousands, and apparently millions, of credits, there is no way it is close to $1 per 1k. But for now people want credits and are willing to pay that much I guess. No use arguing with the reseller though, if 0.65 per 1k is still getting him business he isn't going to listen.

What you're also forgetting is that back when Vanilla WoW started, 1000g would be around $50 US (if I remember correctly, I bought 1000g for about that much around 6 months after release). Look at the price now - 1000g is worth a dollar.

You CANNOT compare the economy of World of Warcraft with something such as ToR - that simple. The 1.5 million mount and VIP badge is something that sure, everyone can buy - but not everyone WILL buy. You are forgetting that as you may pick up this money from questing and perhaps a few lucky chest drops that the whole game's mount/training/vendor prices are TUNED AROUND THE AMOUNT YOU MAKE FROM QUESTING.

The 1.5 million speederbike and the VIP badge (amongst many other things) are bought with money you will have to earn outside of the norm. You will have to farm and play the AH to earn the amount of credits needed and that takes TIME.

People who buy these credits don't buy them because they're 'cheap', it's to save time. Time is money for most people, and if it takes 50-100 hours of farming/waiting for companions to finish missions to farm enough for a speeder etc - they may have a high enough paying job to think "I could work 20 hours and pay for this, rather than farming for 50".

You're wrong and should apologize to the person you were talking to. You obviously have no idea.

Also: You've been playing for ONE day. You obviously haven't researched the gold sinks they've implemented into the game, nor the cost of training (you pay 10k per skill levelup @ level 30). Spare cash is not a thing in this game unless you work for it.
