I'm looking to buy a new rig this winter and I was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on what to buy and where to buy it from. My budget right now is between $700-$800. Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks

It totally depends and what you wanna do with that rig.
I'm using mine for gaming (high/ultra details on almost all games), streaming and a little bit of video editing:
- i5 3570k @4,2Ghz
- ASRock Z77Pro3
- AMD Radeon R9 280
- 16GB DDR3 1600Mhz RAM
- 2x Samsung 840 SSDs (I recommend buying at least one and put the OS and maybe some games on it)

blahh this question is always popping up, and my answer is always changing. I actually currently enjoy "on-the-go" gaming with my Razer Blade Pro 2014. Its portable, it performs, and it light-weight! (okay maybe not that last part.. its heavy.)

Does the R9 290 worth the money? Or should i wait for a GTX 970?

250 GB Samsung Evo 840 SSD
2 TB HDD - 5400 rpm ( cheap and good enough for all the videos,pictures)
MSI z87 Mpower Mobo
GTX 760 ( needs a upgrade as soon as the 800 series is out)
