In the past week we have had 2 members who's Skype accounts have been hacked into and one members who's profile signature was changed.
I have been working with the hacked members to determine how and where these there accounts were hacked and while I have found no evidence of any forum security flaws on EpicNPC, I will be updating the forums ASAP. Possibly later today or tomorrow.
One fact we do know is that the hacker is gaining members passwords through one of the listed RMT sites below:
- OwnedCore.com
- Sythe.org
- Maskedcrusader.com
If you have an account on any of those sites, I suggest updating the password/s so that it is not used for anything else (AIM, Skype, MSN, other forums) other then that 1 forum account.
Buyers and sellers, please take extra precautions over the next few days.
While these forums are being update, it is very likely that the hacker is getting the passwords from another site, so even after the forum update, members who have not updated their passwords and use the same pass on multiple-sites, might still get their accounts hacked into. So it is very important you change your password to something not used on any other site.
As I said, I will be updating the forums ASAP, so they will be down for a few hours while that happens. I apologize for the inconvenience.
