Thread Titles CAP limit

All thread titles now have a maximum of 12 capital letters. This is to prevent members from shouting in their titles as it's annoying to read and look at. There was already a restriction, but it didn't work with edits, so many members abused this loophole.

If you try more than 12 capital letters, it will make everything lowercase except for the first letter.

We will be restricting special characters in titles soon for the same reasons.

It seems to randomly change some letters inside posts to lowercase as well, which can completely break a post!

Many abbreviations for both games and some services would put posts over 10 caps for legit reasons.
This needs to be thought out a bit more.

I apologize, this was not supposed to affect thread content, just the titles. The change has been undone until it can be fixed.

You will have to redo your changes, however you might be able to look at the 'edit history' and just copy paste the code from there to save yourself some time. Sorry for the trouble.

Already discussed via PM, but we will not be making an exception for game abbreviations. The limit will remain 10, sorry.

Turns out it was a quick fix. This has been re-enabled and the limit has been increased to 12 instead of 10 CAPs. It will not affect thread content anymore.

At the very least I hope you retroactively enforce this on all titles. Some users will inevitably notice this and carefully avoid editing their thread to prevent it from happening. It does give a slight advantage, as a lack of proper capitalization for certain wording within titles gives the appearance of being inept or less professional. It's a minor change, though people notice these minor differences and it can affect their decision making process.

It's not possible to retroactively enforce this on old threads, only new ones and old ones that are edited.

We'll give everyone a week or so to update their threads, they will start giving out infractions to members that still have titles in all caps.
