Recently quit wow and am selling my level 70. Found this website and have posted the sale on the USA Wow Accounts forum.

So far, I have gotten 12 ims from kids that obviously are scammers trying to send stolen paypal funds which will in time be reversed by the original paypal holder's bank/credit card and therefore be reversed out of your account. I have already been through this once this week and had to call blizzard to get my account back.
But now I know what to watch out for when trying to sell my account on here.

Here are some of the signs of a scammer with paypal.

1) They im you from simple aim screen names or email addresses screen names. (examples: wowgamer123,thedragon899,[email protected] etc..)

2) They speak very poor english.
(scammer: may i know more about account)
(scammer: how many the gold and honor in ur account)

3) They will offer MUCH more then your account is worth.

4) They will try to make the transaction fast.

5) They send the paypal payment from a verified paypal account that usually is old (5+ years) and under a female's name.

How to avoid these scammers?

1) Ask them to goto www.whatismyip.com and to give you their ip. then goto this link and check out their location. If it says (AKANOC Solutions) they are using a proxy and are most likely scammers.

2) Ask for their paypal email address. Now, ask them to send you an email from this address. If they cant, then they are NOT the owner of the paypal address, dont listen to their excuses "its my parents email"...

3) Now if you do feel your buyer is legit, request the paypal payment to their email. Now once he pays , print a shipping label and send a package to the address with nothing in it to satisfy paypal.

I hope this helps as iam getting COMPLETELY sick of the massive amount of ims ive been getting from these scammers. I dont know what country their from, but its starting to piss me off and i really would rather people know about these scammers and better protect themselfs.

Good post. *High Five* bro.

Few more things ive noticed are...

The common phrases they say.

1. hi i am interested in ur acc.
2. paypal ok? i am verified and you?
3. may i see the armory (you link they just say "cool" or awesome)

Other things like they dont want to see the account in game.
Its really easy to spot a scammer.

You need to put yourself in their shoes, you are going to spend money on an account wouldnt you want to know as much about it as you can.

They try and rush the sale forcing you to make mistakes. Who cares if it takes 2-3 days to sell an account as long as the person is serious about buying it they will be patient.

Price your account well and research what others are asking for theirs.

For example I recently sold 2 level 70's on 1 account, they werent anything special just in blues and 2 or 3 epics each. I ended up getting $400 for the account and I was happy with that as that would be the most that people would pay. I had 9 scammers all offering over 800 for the account.

If you suspect a scammer say "I am talking to other people about the account hold on" or "Other people are bidding higher" they will get angry and say for you to stop the bidding they will BO at a high price ect ect

Just be carefull

lol yeh it can be guys names some times, but 4 times in a row i got paypal payments from ALL female names... lol

How are all these kids / people stealing paypal accounts so easily? I would've thought hacking paypal would be extremely difficult, seeing as it's supposed to provide secure handling of millions of people's money... A while ago I was scammed by someone who had stolen the paypal of some guy in a completely different part of the U.S, but I was able to get my account back.

i have no clue how these hackers are getting them. the last time i got a stolen paypal payment the email was... [email protected], i know that they are planning to scam me because the domain is from a random business firm or something and i believe they stole their paypal account possibly off their website or something because so far ive been given email addresses from multiple website firms.
