It just so happens that are tons of scammers everywhere. a lot of scams can be avoided by just enforcing some more regulations. One main problem with the CS:GO accounts is that we can't be sure if they actually have an account or not. To solve this problem in the CS:GO account buy/sell section to enforce users to provide screenshot of the account with the rank they are claiming to be selling.

It just so happens i got scammed by a guy, although you learn from it this can be avoided for other users.

For instance:
http://www.epicnpc.com/threads/784877-CS-GO-Shop-Silver-and-Novas-accounts-HERE!

Brand new account, same font, same country of origin as the other thread i mentioned i got scammed in. Too much of a coincidence.

Another example:
http://www.epicnpc.com/threads/784798-Cs-go-accounts-for-sale!-boosting

brand new account calming to have silver 1/2 accounts, which are rare now days to be sold.

If we force users to provide screenshots for the accounts they claim they have, and note to make sure to add those accounts prior to buying from them to make sure they can send you a message or something they actually own those accounts will benefit the buyers and reduce the amount of scams that exist there.

Also, there should be manual approval done for new users posting in that section. its very common for scammers to signup again with brand new account and keep scamming.

I am trying to try and make the selling part a little harder to keep valid, authenticated users there to sell and keep the scammers out of it.

Thoughts?

They can have one account and edit the rank everytime they get banned to show a "different account". Sure, maybe we could come up with something but this wouldn't help that much.

And regarding those two. I banned Denissee since he's NPCgg11.

And I removed http://www.epicnpc.com/threads/784798-Cs-go-accounts-for-sale!-boosting since he's not allowed to sell boosting services that require login info. If he's selling lobbyboost aka boost assist, he has to clearly state it in the thread.

Screenshot won't help much since they can be faked, although I'm not sure why you would need one anyway.

Just send him a message on Steam.

I'm not sure why you would send money to anyone that couldn't message you to prove they own the account. It's much better and a lot easier than requesting everyone to start posting images.

no, i understand. but with a screenshot of the actual CS:GO homepage showing the rank and the name of the account, you can later add that account and message back and forth to make sure they actually own that specific account. a lot of times people wont even link to the profile or claim they dont have it installed. if you cant prove that you have the account you shouldnt' be able to sell it here. just my $0.02 about this matter. a lot of scammers just claim they dont have the game installed. well if you dont have it installed you shouldn't be able to sell it.

Again, just a thought. as the amount of scams going on here are increasing. i've dealt with 5 users here one was legit others just claimed they have it, can't prove it since they dont have it installed and wont go first.

I understand the problem and was trying to find something as a solution. maybe this wont help at all maybe it will.

Appreciate you guys.

You don't need steam installed so that's not a good excuse. They can log into their account from the website http://steamcommunity.com and post a message on their own Profile page in the Comments section. If they can't do that, they don't own the account.

It's very simple to prove ownership of a Steam account, if they start making excuses why they can't, they're a scammer.
