Sticky Thread Ads - Major Update

A major update has been completed and is now live for the Sticky Thread Ad system. The update now allows for 2 ad types.

- Normal Threads
- Ad Threads

Normal Threads - This works exactly the same as before where you use an existing thread to sticky. These threads should follow all forum rules when unstuck, but were allowed to break some rules when they were sticked.

The problem is that once a thread was unstuck many members failed to re-edit the thread so that it followed the rules. This would cause members to receive warnings and created more work for our mods.

Ad Threads - This allows members to create a separate, new thread specifically to sticky. The thread will not appear while it's pending as an outbid and will disappear once it expires,. The only time it will display is when it's an active sticky thread. This allows members to create "ad threads" which break some forum rules without worrying about editing them once expired and getting infractions from mods.

New Sticky Thread Purchase Process:

1. Find forum to buy sticky thread in
2. Click "Purchase" button
3. Select what type of thread you want "Normal Thread" or "Ad Thread".
   1. For "normal threads" you have to enter the thread URL.
4. Make payment
5. Normal threads - same as before. They will either be sticked or pending it if was an outbid.
6. Ad Threads - A temporary "Holding Thread" will be created. Once payment clears, the member can edit this thread to post what they want.

On the "My Sticky Thread" page, we have split these 2 thread types into separate categories so members can easily manage both. For "Ad threads" once expired, a member can reuse the same thread for a later purchase so they don't' have to keep recreating the same thread each time. However once a member "deletes" the thread from their list, it can't be reused later.

• Escrow threads receive priority over normally threads (not sticky). We will be displaying 3 random escrow transactions at the top of each page. Below sticky threads and guides, at the top of the normal threads.
  • On each page load it will randomly select 3 escrow threads that are active within 24 hrs to display at the top.
  • If the page already has escrow threads displaying, it will not duplicate.
  • This is a temporary feature we have added to help promote the escrow service. Once we reach a certain level of activity this feature will be removed.
