Steam account locked after i bought it?

Hi, i am sorry if i am in the wrong forum.. but here it goes:

Yesterday i bought a steam account from a nice guy who was legit and gave me the account info and so on. I logged in on steam and immediately changed email and password. I started to play on it while i still was i contact with the seller from his other steam account and was a really nice person, i was having no trouble. This morning i woke up and logged into steam to my big surprise it was "locked". It told me that i could not play on VAC servers, use the market and so on, until i had provided prove of ownership (CD-Keys, billing information and so on). the error stated that the original owner had tried to regain acces to the account. It confused me and i started reading around the web and found out that this could also have be an automated lock mechanism, maybe because he is from the states and i am from EU? He is probably stil sleeping so ill have to wait for a response from the seller.

What do i do in this situation? If the seller can provide me with proof of ownership for steam support, can i still get the account back even tho i changed the email and pretty much updated the whole steam profile to my own? Can i contact steam myself with the new (my) email, or do i need him to do it for me with his old?

Well, the first thing you might want to do is write a support ticket and ask them what's going on.
After their reply you should know if they intentionally temporarily locked the account or if the original owner is trying to recover it.

EDIT: didn't you get a mail from Steam?

Guess i should try that!

And no. I did not get a mail from steam on the new email. Does that mean that it was the seller that tried to reclaim the account?

The account has been locked by the OO most likely and steam support is waiting for additional proof in order to reset the password. That's why you didn't get the email or any notifications.

this is how a scammer normally does this.

I'm from Europe myself and I sold hundreds of accounts to people all over the world, i can't think of a country that I haven't sold the account to. This is 99% original owner locking the account in order to regain access to it.

I've never been in this kind of situation with Steam :/. We don't really know if the seller is trying to reclaim the account so don't make too hasty conclusions.
Sorry for not being able to help that much right now. Guess we just have to wait for a response from Steam.

EDIT: just saw @rmik post. Is the seller still offline for you? Try to contact him using another account and see if he blocked your main account.
I guess the seller is from EpicNPC? Maybe you should link his profile.

I guess i am just extremely unlucky.. since i just came from a 20 dollar scam and then went on to this one :S ill wait and see what steam says otherwise i am going to dispute it if either steam or the seller is not answering

Answer to your edit. i dont want to hang him out or anything if he's legit but sharing his profile can't hurt i guess: /members/353764-BustinAtYou

Well, if you get proof that he actually did recall the account, you can report him in Active Disputes.
Make sure you use the Dispute Form.

EDIT: fixed typo
EDIT2: looks like someone created a thread about him, accusing him for scamming.

Thanks for the update, i can also now confirm that he is a scammer. I don't know if its of use anywhere, but i have his IP. But since the other guy made a dispute, i suppose that i would not have to?

Thanks again guys!
