Enemy Guide in SMITE's New Mode 'Da Ji and the Legend of the Foxes'

Hi-Rez Studios have finally rolled out the anticipated adventure mode for their very own SMITE game. This new game mode has drawn a lot of inspiration from anime and offers a whole new different experience compared to SMITE's other playables. 'Da Ji and the Legend of the Foxes' showcases a horde mode kind of gameplay where players have to defend the foxes and objectives from waves of enemies and bosses. This guide will help you understand the enemies in the game and will also teach you how to defeat them.

Introduction to the map

Da Ji and the Legend of the Foxes highlights five stages - four rounds of hordes of enemies and one boss fight. These five stages occur in three different areas where you have to defend the objective from enemy invasions. Three areas are: city, forest, and temple. The first area to defend is the the city, next is the forest, third the temple, then back to the city, and finally the boss fight.

In the minimap, the blue dots are fountains (square) that spawn blue potions which regenerate health and mana over 3 seconds. The triangles in yellow (circle) are the shops where you can buy randomly generated items of your hero class. You start without items so these shops are your chances in obtaining ones. The shopping time, however, is limited.

Elite monsters

Most of the mobs are easy to kill. However, there are random elite monsters in every round that needs special attention. These are the following:

Sweeper - The sweeper is probably the strongest in all elite mobs. It is high in mobility, high in damage, and also has different cc skills. Deal with him as soon as possible. Melee gods can tank the sweeper while range gods can dps him in a distance.

Summoner - Despite having no mobility at all, the summoner is a high priority and needs to be dealt as soon as possible. This mob only stays in one plays but it summons fire minions. If not being being dealt sooner, you risk yourself being overwhelmed later on. Just ignore the minions and kill the summoner asap since he doesn’t directly attack you.

Trapper - The trapper is a medium-priority elite monster. His main skill is pulling in gods from long ranges which interrupts leaps, and rooting them in place before infecting a damage that takes place over time. His pull itself deals around 170 DOT per second for three seconds.

Lobber - This elite mob has low in damage but high in mobility. His skill is throwing lava pools that deals damage and slows gods’ movements for 25-30%. The lobber runs around the map but is not very a high priority. Only deal with him after dealing higher treats.

Wizard - Although wizards have low mobility, this elite monster has a high damage output. Its skill is a powerful AoE projectile that travels in straight line, knocking out gods on its way as well as damaging the pillar. One way to deal with this is to avoid being in the line of sight with the pillar or with the other gods. The projectile can also be dodged by jumping, but bear in mind the strafing won’t be enough.

Final Bosses

The fourth round is the main boss. Each boss also spawns two random gods that are much stronger than normal. The strategy is to divide the gods and the main boss as much as you can and try to keep them away from the pillar. Do not deal with them all at once, try to kill them one by one. It’s easy to start with the enemy gods first as they spawn with the ultimate ready before moving on to the boss.

Bull Demon King - The bull’s ability are: dash that knocks you up, jump that stuns for 2 seconds, and a rupture to the ground that damages everyone in line. If you have a tank, try to seperate the bull from the other gods by letting your tank distract him while the two other players deal with the enemy gods.

Order Titan and Chaos Titan - The Order Titan and the Chaos Titan are easy bosses. The Order has only two skills, AoE smash damage and AoE blind. The Chaos, on the other hand, has a basic attacks that have long ranges and he has a skill which summons swords and deal damage in an AoE. You can basically ignore these bosses while dealing first with the gods.

Tiger Warrior - This boss seems a bit different. In his spawn, he summons four “pillars of the might” around the main fox pillar that strengthen his skills. As soon as these pillars are summoned, destroy it asap or you will have to deal with Tiger’s massive damage.

Mega Kuzenbo - This boss turtle has a skill where he spins around, not only dealing high damage but also CCs everyone that gets caught. The way to deal with this is to attack him from a distance and avoid being close to him. If his ult catches you, it’ll be easier for enemy gods to bring you down. One player should tank this turtle while other attack him from a longer range.

In the current meta of the mode, assassins are probably the best bet in winning. Some assassins have cleave damage and some can manage to tank. Hunters are also good as they have high DPS capability especially the ones with long range attack/skills. Mages are okay but not very recommendable. They might have AoE abilities but they rely on mana and most of them are too physically soft.
