Search Engine Traffic Update

Just wanted to give you guys an update on where we stand with search engine traffic, since that was a big concern everyone had when we moved to the new forums and I didn't redirect the old UBB forums here.

Yesterday we reached another new record in search engine traffic. Just about every other day we're breaking the previous record.

Search engine traffic is growing at about 18% per week and currently we're at about 30% of where it was on MD.

With that said, if we continue to grow 18% per week, we should be back to normal traffic levels in 2 months. MD also didn't have the greatest SEO on their forums, so I have no doubt that we'll continue to gain search engine traffic past the 2 months.

Just wanted to update you guys, yesterday we reached 100% of the search engine traffic MD had and we are still gaining. I still have more SEO work to do, so this should only continue to increase.

Honestly maybe the site mmobay does, but the forums are not nearly as active as MD was

My ads get a tremendous amount of page views so theres plenty of traffic here. As irritated as I was I didn't step up and grab MD, and how I personally felt after that, this site in general has taken tremendous strides in improvement.

Mmobay did an awesome job here. He continued a legacy of 10 years and held it together, working with (in my opinion) a not so great platform in 4.0.x which I think was inherited. You guys complained a lot, but I don't really think he had a choice but to use it since the converter that MD had built was designed to move into this platform. I could be wrong, but regardless he did a great job. Quite frankly, you should be stoked that a guy that has as much obvious SEO ability is working FOR YOU, to generate YOU traffic so that YOUR business can do better. Obviously it's in his best interests to do so, but he could also be like me and just not want the "power sellers" around and just make ad money, and money from people using the auction site. Which, I feel certain would be 1000x's easier than dealing with the prima donnas around here

I did voice my doubts and irritations about this site and the ownership, (privately), but I'm getting on board, and I think that as long as the RMT marketplace continues this will be a well managed, quality situation for all of us to prosper if we strive to do so.

keep in mind a lot of the traffic from markee was from it being around forever and building up a huge amount of users. most of the traffic mike has coming in are new users so this website is slowly building a community like MD had

Search engine traffic is 100% of what MD had, but overall traffic is around 70%. This constitutes direct (bookmark/type in) traffic and referral traffic. Since these forums are less then 4 months old, both of these are lower than what MD had for obvious reasons, but as the forums grow in age, these should naturally grow as well, will just take time.

Also when I give traffic stats, this is completely independent from the main site.

How about mouse pads?

I have tgs and GC tshirts and mugs.....Shoulda worked 4 me suckas. J/kin, I did most of that stuff for gc, although it did turn out pretty cool. I need some ideas for blizzcon this year come to think of it.
