I'm sorry, but Hydrogen336 is a well known scammer and was banned here 3 years ago.

Please contact members directly on our site. A code is not 100% secure.

It's called a double sided scam.

The scammer has 2 skype accounts. He impersonates both buyer and seller. He contacts the buyer on one account and the seller on another account.

When you say, i'm going to send you a code number, the scammer is talking to the other person. The scammer just tells the other person that he sent a code number and to repeat it to confirm. The user then gives the scammer the code.

The scammer then tells you the code and now you think it's the real person.

You have to communicate on site if you do not plan to check the usernames.

I'm sorry, but this was 100% an impostor. Please communicate on-site only in the future.

If you googled "hydrogen336 skype" the very first result would have shows that he's a banned scammer.

Don't use a code, ever. This makes it easy for scammer as I showed above.

If you have to go off-site to chat. Say, "my skype is "whatever", and I'm currently talking to "sellers skype username"

This way you both are aware of the usernames.

Skype doesn't show the real username in the chat, only the display name which can be changed to anything, so it's very easy to impersonate someone. You have to view the full profile to see the real Skype username.

understand that people can impersonate someone, but still the account Kennalc used to send me messages with is also atleast as guilty. Since even if there are 2 people at work they operated together since they synced codes. If you check my PM's with Kennalc you can clearly see I asked it multiple times if he sold it.

Okay, let me try another way to show you how this scam works. In many cases, the scammer can scam both buyer and seller at the same time. In this case, it seems only buyer was scammed.

Scammer makes two Skype accounts

Skype1 (Display name: Pascal073)
Skype2 (Display name: Kennalc)

He changes the display name to whatever your Skype username is and to the seller's skype username.

Conversation #1
Skype1 (scammer)
Real seller (Kennalc)

Conversation #2
Skype2 (scammer)
Real buyer (Pascal073)

You can see the scammer has 2 Skype chats at the same time, talking to both the real buyer and real seller.

1. Pascal073, you sent a code to the real seller.
2. On skype, you ask Skype2 (scammer) to tell you the code.
3. In Conversation #1, the scammer tells the seller (Kennalc) the same thing.

"I just sent you a code on Epicnpc. Please repeat the code in this skype chat, so I can confirm you're Kennalc"

4. Kennalc, then tells Skype1 (scammer) the code on skype. Remember, at this point Kennalc thinks he's talking to you, Pascal073.
- The scammer now knows the code.

5. in Conversation #2, Skype2 (scammer) then tells Pascal073 the code.

This is how the scammer gets the code.

Look, there are other ways to do this. Above is one example, but it's still the same.

So in your case these are the steps instead.

Conversation #1
- On Skype, the scammer is talking to Kennalc pretending to buy something.
- The scammer tells Kennalc he wants to confirm his identity. He tells Kennalc to send him a message on Epicnpc to Pascal073 with code 2342343
(this is because he's impersonating you to the seller, so this appears normal to Kennalc )
- Kennalc, then sends you a message with the code 2342343

Conversation #2 -
- On Skype, the scammer tells you, "I just sent you a code, please post it here so I can confirm your identity"
- You,
Pascal073, then tell the scammer the code.

So it's slightly different, but the same thing.

We didn't start this website yesterday, I have seen this dozens of times. It's a more complicated scam, but still common.

I'm sorry, but codes don't work, that's not a good way to confirm someone identity. You have to look at the username. That's the best way to do it.
