We agreed on $40.00 for his guild wars 1 account, payment by Paypal.
He asked me to use transfer to friend option, I thought thats how it should be done so I did it.
He then gave me the account details and logged off straight after before I replied to him.
I tried to see if I can change the email and password and it turned out I cant.
I messaged him to change it, he replied in a vile manner saying I tried to log into his guild wars 2 account and he has now changed the password.
He then logged straight off again.
I can no longer log-in.
Pay-pal website advised that transaction to friend cannot be disputed.
Im totally new to this and too vulnerable. He is dancing now...

Please post an image of the chat where he gives you the info then logs off. Also post the part where you contact him back and he accuses you of trying to log into his GW2 account.

I have nothing to add. As you can see he can't add nothing I did wrong in the skype logs. Everything went fine. I even helped him and gave him the account the moment, he payed me. He loged in and everything was ok. A few days later I see someone has tried to log into my Guild Wars 2 account and tried do change the password for my Guild Wars 2 Account. The Guild Wars 1 account was his as i don't use it anymore.
He got greedy tried to log into my Guild Wars 2 Account and use it. We did not agree on such a thing. He tried to scam me for my 2 accounts.
If i didn't have account protection he would have had my Guild Wars 2 account too.
Everything was fine till this dude tried to get his hands on my second account.
If anything he tried to scam me. Everything was fine till he got greedy and tried to steal my main Guild Wars 2 Account.

well i just did not expect people to get back so quickly. He did not share details with me on skype nor accepted my add contact request. I see he log off because the icon beside his name change from red or yellow, to white. indicating not online. He's status icon changes to white both times I sent a message.

I'd like to add that at no stage did he mention he even has a guild wars 2 account. I have been told by a verified member of EpicNPC site guild wars 1 account management is now merged with guild wars 2. It says on the guild wars 1 support page as well. You should be able to log into guild wars 1 account management on the guild wars 2 site by using the same login details. But it did not work. Why? because he changed the password right away.

You do not sell your account while keeping the same email and password. That is not selling an account. Once the account is sold, it is mine. I am allowed to change the email and password. It is inconceivable that he would think that he should be able to continue to log-in. Now he is just pretending not to know any of it and push the blame on me. He's argument is weak at best. And the vile manner he replied then runs away immediately. You wonder why... At no stage did he even attempt to try to work it out.

oh and you note he said I have nothing to add while he him self does not add anything....hypocrisy?

he even lied about "a few days" after. I asked if I could change the email address, he responded with I changed the password. I saw it the next morning. If I am a scammer I will not fall for his trickery.

Stop telling people fallse facts. You don't know how things even work with the accounts.

No you could not log in because I have it protected by email and I can show how twice you tried to log into the Guild Wars 2 account without even asking.
The account was yours to play, I gave you all the info you asked for, I gave you the pass, username the moment I got the money. You just got greedy when you realised you can have Guild Wars 2 for free and tried to log into the account and in the game without even asking.

You got greedy that's all. You had the account you had all the info, all you had to do was play, instead you wanted to take another account for free because you saw fit.

Galahat you sold an account, LazyBear needs to change the email, this is a normal part of account selling. if he cannot because the guild wars 1 and 2 accounts are merged into one you have to sell both games.

Why would I need to sell both games if they are merged. He was free to play on the account for as long as he wanted.
He did not ask about the account, the email or the Guild Wars 2 account before he send me the money.
Everything was fine till he tried to scam me without telling me. He did not try to change an email or ask me for this.
He did everything thinking he can get an account for free.
Once again The info I gave him was ok, he logged into the account without any trouble. He was free to use it. He just tried to be greedy.

Everything is his own doing and it's perfectly clear. I did not give him false information or misslead him in any way. He tried to scam me and I reacted.

2. I did not buy the account to share it with you. If I cannot change the email and password you effectively still own the account and can take it back anytime you want. which you have. Did you just forget to add a clause in the transaction that you will retain ownership of the account and get in and out as you please and even take it back as you please?

3. I am buying guild wars 1 as I have spelled it out. Why would I ask about guild wars 2? I do not care about guild wars 2 that is not the game I am interested in.

4. you are the one that knows nothing if you didnt know that your own guild wars 1 is linked with guild wars 2.

5. just what gives you the right to keep the money and change the password? if you are going to take back the account. give back the money pure and simple. how ridiculous can you get. if you are not a scammer give back the money. If i didn't have procetion over my guild wars 2 account you would have stolen it.

There is no attempt to scam here. Just inexperience from a new seller and some miscommunication.


As doomedtofail stated, if your GW and GW2 account are linked together you have to sell both. When someone buys an account they must fully secure it, this means changing email, password and enabling other security features.

LazyBear was unable to do this because you were still using your GW2 account and needed access.

It's completely understandable that when LazyBear saw the GW2 account he assumed it was part of the sale, I would have. I would have never assumed you planned to keep playing you GW2 account after selling the account to me.

Galahat, please issue a full refund, then decide whether or not you want to sell your full GW1/2 account. You won't be able to just sell half of it.

EpicNPC, while he does "sound" inexperienced, and I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, there is also a part of me that really dislike how quickly he acted and what he said in response.

Also for my benefit, do you know about the actual workings of guild wars 1 and guild wars 2 account? as you can see from the image i posted in my last post. I was advised you can go use guild wars 1 login to the guild wars 2 website and access the game managemenet for guild wars 1. the support page i posted also support this. but I was not able to do so. i didnt know you can use the same email address and have different password for the 2 games. I have both guild wars 1 and guild wars 2. that is not the case.

I feel like its all a trap to suck me in given the speed he changed the password and the total lack of communication and one line answer. and he specifically set up the transaction so that I cannot reverse it. that screams cheat to me in all kinds of ways. He even lied, he said a few days after, he's message came in mere hours. He went away straight away after giving me the details. He when i was unable to change password and email I sent him a message asking can i change the email. he didnt reply. a few hours later he calls me scam and goes away. I messaged him back. did he respond? no... you know how scammers pretend to be the one thats right. you must have seen it before. and he calls me a liar when I have not. You see, he is still insisting he is right and will keep the money. He is scamming.

you see he declared this is over for him. he already declared he will keep the money. he is just a ******* scammer.

We do not allow sellers to sell accounts and retain access to them you have to provide the entire account to the buyer and allow them to change ALL information. whether or not you did not sell your gw2 account to him, its still technically part of the sale as they are linked. But lazybear did state he did try to log into the gw2 website, his story seems simple and believable enough. You have no proof otherwise.

Now that you have both account back and money you are no longer entitled to his money and must refund it.
