Safest way to deliver gold.

I'm about to start a modest gold farming and selling business and at the moment I have quite a chunk of gold to un load.

I was looking for any insight as to the best way to do this. I like the auction house method aside from two issues.

1. It draws attention which is never a good thing. When someone sees a class of milk on the AH they know what the seller is doing.

2. Due to the auction house fees I either lose out on revenue or the customer loses in value. Neither are acceptable.

I was looking for opinions on the guild vault method. Where the seller char (being the guild master) deposits the amount in the guild bank and gives the customer withdrawing privileges. It's instant and quiet.

Since I am small time at the moment I can't really afford to have my main farming char banned. Now I realize this is always a possibility when doing things like this I'm just trying to get an idea of what the best possible way to take is.

Has anyone got an account banned by using either of the above methods or do the banning usually occur during the actual farming process?

Thank you all and I appreciate any insight.

I personally do the guild vault method. When someone buys gold I create a guild rank with permission to withdraw the amount they purchased. Its also a good idea to have the guild bank controlled by a level one instead of a max level character, because when a level 80 delivers the gold the customer often will start sending tells to the level 80 after they've bought the gold.

When I don't have a guild bank set up I do face to face transfers, incrementally with the gold receiver putting an item into the trade window each time.

I do not recommend AH or mail deliver, as blizzard monitors both systems (that is why around 2.3 or 2.2 AH sales started taking an hour for you to receive them)

I have never received a ban using my gold transfer methods, but if you were to get caught you receive a 3 day suspension first, then on the second offense you receive a ban.

Thank you very much Kevs for confirming my suspicions.

I'm also thinking as an added saftey measure that after every say, 20-50k gold sold that I should just delete the level 1 and guild and start fresh. Just to keep things as...obfuscated as possible.

I'm not concerned about being banned while farming as I am always here when the farming occurs so my only real fear was an insta-ban when the actual transaction/delivery takes place.

Thanks again for putting my mind at ease. Even if the possibility of a ban is still there.

I'm also wondering how you feel about transferring characters with large sums of gold on them (20-100k) to other realms to complete an order. I would imagine that would raise some flags. Do you or anyone else here do this at all and have you ever been banned as a result?

I know that typically it would be ideal to simply farm on the server your selling on but I could imagine several instances where realm to realm subsidizing would be beneficial.

Well atm I have 20K+ on 2 of my lvl 2 delivery char so if there is a cap it shouldn't impede things too much.

To me it more a matter of security which I'm not sure of yet.

It's funny, I'm new to the world of gold selling and I think about the whole thing like someone might think of actual money laundering/tax evasion. Same principle really. More gold more risk, more risk more reward. At least at the beginning. lol

You can have as much gold as you want on the toons any level when on the server. Though when you transfer them to a new server thats when the limit starts. Can only transfer so and so level toon with so and so amounts of gold.

RGEKrew is correct. The transfer limits are as follows:

You can create DKs to realm transfer 5k gold but its not really worth realm transferring for 5k gold. The only way to transfer large amounts on a lower level character is to do it via commodoties (enchanting mats/glyphs are nice because there's no AH deposit, so are relics of ulduar lately)

It's also not a bad idea to use a DK instead of a level one, forgot to mention that earlier.

You seem to have the right ideas, trust your instincts about the best actions, remember that the goal is for maximum obfuscation
