What is Western Union, one might ask some day. Most of the experienced users are aware about the online payment service it offers, that's why this guide is directed towards people who either never have heard of Western Union before, or have been using PayPal their whole life.

<span style="font-size: 8pt"><span style="font-style: italic">"Western Union is an option of payment provided both online and in the real world, being unique at every single way. It provides maximum safety at the cost of additional fee, which might be the only problem while doing the deal. It also requires a little bit more activity than just clicking the button though!"</span></span>

<span style="font-weight: bold">General Information</span>

Just when you enter the Western Union website, it greets you with a really friendly interface. You can either Learn More about their history and services in your native tongue, Send Money Online if there?s a posibility to do so, or Find Agents Location in your town.

After selecting Learn More it gets you through to the main page, where you literally can gather all the information you?re seeking. It also provides you with the possibility to go anywhere else as well as check the Money Transfer Status which I will explain later on.

<span style="font-weight: bold">Money Transfer</span>

Money transfer, unlike in any other payment types, is being sent directly from a person to a person ? not from an account to account. You don?t need a Western Union account unless your country supports online payment through it. Countries supporting sending money online are:

<ul style="list-style-type: disc">[*]Australia[*]Austria[*]Canada[*]France[*]Germany[*]Ireland[*]Italy[*]Netherlands[*]New Zealand[*]Norway[*]Spain[*]Sweden[*]United Kingdom[*]United States
Let?s say you cannot do it online by creating an online account, and sending the money the easiest way ? directly through a credit or debit card. To even think of doing the Money Transfer itself, first of all you have to find yourself an Agent Location. Usually <span style="font-weight: bold">Transfer Process</span> where they provide their services. Instead, they make their software available to most of the banks, so you can complete the payment almost everywhere.

thumbnail4x.jpg

That does not exactly mean that literally everyone can use Western Union, though. You have to prove your identity somehow. They only accept <span style="font-weight: bold">Transfer Process</span>which are available to everyone fortunately, and <span style="font-weight: bold">Transfer Process</span> most have to wait to get. Apart from that, required information about yourself (and a person you?re dealing with) are:

<ul style="list-style-type: disc">[*]First Name[*]Second Name[*]Last Name[*]Street (Name and Number)[*]Postal Code[*]City[*]Country
Of course these pieces of information are required by some banks. Some require less, some require even more, as a telephone number and such. These are the most common, though.

<span style="font-weight: bold">Transfer Process</span>

Now when you have a Western Union agent nearby and have every single information required about you yourself, and the person you?re trading with ? it?s finally time to do the deal. Of course it?s suggested to use a Middleman while doing a WU deal, since the transfer is irreversible!

You basically head for the agent location, and either fill out a paper they give you or answer the questions they ask you there. A transfer done by an experienced lad over the office should be taken care in around 10 minutes top (up to 30 in some rare cases unfortunately).

Now here comes the most important information. You get a so-called <span style="font-weight: bold">Money Transfer Control Number</span> that is a requisite for withdrawing the money by the other person (or you, if you?re the one doing it). After completing the transfer, the money is withdraw-able just a little while later at any place in the world it supports!

Now even though you can?t (theoretically) do the transfer online, you can help yourself with their website by checking if the money is already there. At the main page just below the center image and text, you can enter the <span style="font-weight: bold">Sender?s First Name</span>, <span style="font-weight: bold">Sender?s Last Name</span> and <span style="font-weight: bold">MTCN</span> and it automatically gets you information whether it has been withdrawn, is available to be withdrawn, or there?s no such transfer.

Ive been trying to sell an account with western union and have had no luck.
It seems no one wants to use it but I've been scammed twice with paypal so I don't trust any other source.

Well, Western Union is clearly THE SAFEST method for the seller and it's THE SAFEST method for both if the trade is middlemanned.

And I'm still not sure why, but most of the people aren't keen on using it even if it's available almost everywhere. Probably because it sometimes requires going outside!

yeah,as far as i concern, west union is widely used in transaction.:)esp when guys pay for the items they get in games.it is a rather reliable way to get the things u purchased paid.
