The mage is really okay, no problem getting into a raiding guild! Also you can easily change names of the characters - make same named character to another server, migrate with the lvl 50 char to that server, game prompts you a name change since that name is taken. And after a week you migrate back to old server or wherever you want in EU.

I have raided with this mage over 6 months and Im kinda tired =) A game change wont hurt, but shelving the chars feels sad.
