I expected the tooltips to be something more than the default html image tooltip.
It's still a bit confusing for new members.

We can do something more in the future, but for now we just wanted to get something done quick so at least members can see what the icons mean. We'll come back around to this in a few weeks once we finish up some other items and make it a little bit nicer with more info.

On firefox I cannot see tooltips for badges.

It works for me in FF. It's just an image alt tag, standard HTML so all browsers support that. Check other websites and see if you got hover boxes for any images.

Can we change the display for special ranks like Trusted-Mod-Smod-Admin?
Like:

That will take a little bit more space, but will give more importance to the badge.
I think that should be nice

If you could select one to be your primary, it would use the old image and change your user title to it. And below it can be the rest of the badges in the current format.
