Hi, sorry if I'm posted this in an improper forum, but I have a few questions regarding selling my WoW account.
My WoW account has one designated main which is epicced out, but also has more than 5 lv70 alts, all of which are raid-ready, have decent gear and high lv crafts as well.
I realize that selling my account as a whole would result in a huge price depreciation. I'm also pretty weary of the many scammers who like to lurk in places such as MD; I almost got scammed when trying to sell my LOTRO account here, I suspect that the scammer used a stolen paypal account to pay me, then reversed the charge, but luckily I was able to recall my account. With that in mind, I've determined the safest way of selling my WoW account is through paid acct-to-acct xfers.
However, that would require a large number of blank accounts, which would cost a crapload of money to obtain so many new WoW+TBC keys in the first place. In account-to-account transfer sales, is it customary for the seller to provide the blank account, or is that the responsibility of the buyer? Also, who pays for the actual transfer cost? If the buyer is supposed to supply the blank account, how does one convince an inexperienced buyer to create the blank account using registration info matching yours so you could transfer the character they want to buy from you to it?
Another concern of mine is, what number of transfers off of an individual account is considered safe? Due to the volume of character transfers needed of separating out all my alts, wouldn't Blizzard find it suspicious how some guy is making 8 new accounts and transferring 1 character to each of them, in which the new accounts are then accessed from a different IP?
So many concerns and so many hassles, it almost makes me want to not sell my account anymore, lol. Nevertheless, if anyone could answer some of my questions, I would be most grateful.
End wall-o-text
