Questions regarding Runescape accounts.

Hello EpicNPC community,

I've recently been interested in purchasing Runescape Accounts. However, I'm unfamiliar with the Runescape system of account recovery, methods to secure Runescape accounts, gold buying etc. Hence, I've created this thread in hope that some of you with more knowledge in this field will be able to assist me by answering my questions.

1. Gold buying on Runescape, bannable? I'm intending to buy amounts such as 500m since the gold is pretty cheap. On wow I'd have to take precautions but are there any for Runescape? (Assuming they do ban for buying gold)

2. Is there a way to 100% secure a Runescape account after buying it? Even in WoW I'm fairly dubious about a 100% secure method of preventing recalls though there are several claims out there to be able to do so with a certain method. However, thankfully, for WoW, there are many reputable and legit people out there offering a Lifetime Warranty which assuages my fears of losing everything.

For Runescape though, I haven't noticed any Runescape resellers on Epicnpc, which is fairly normal as the business isn't that profitable I guess. However, this removes one avenue of safe trading for me; the warranty. Another issue I noticed is, most Runescape account sellers are very new to Epicnpc; no reputation at all, any guarantee they provide are pretty much worthless as they could just disappear with nothing at stake. If there are no ways to secure a Runescape account, I find it very difficult to purchase one without any form of warranty.

3. Through my research, the seller of the Runescape account will remove their facebook, change the email on the account to mine and I can set recovery questions, bank PIN etc. However , I looked it up and there's this : Recover your account without an email - RuneScape Wiki .
It seem like the OO doesn't need any ID to recover. Simply knowledge of the account will suffice. I understand I'm able to request such information to place me on the same standing as the OO in terms of recovering the account, however, how will I know if the information the seller provides is correct?

I think Runescape used to sell in game gold theirselves a one point in time, but since stopped. I don't think you can be banned for buying gold, or really be banned for anything. I knew people who botted day in and day out and never had any issues. You receive things called black marks that go towards banning and mutes and stuff, they wear away with time.

That's all I know ;P

Not sure if you can actually secure a Runescape account, not sure on the recovery either though. Its hard pressed to secure and recover, so it will be hard either way. I don't think there really is a huge value in Runescape accounts anyways. The value lies in the gold in which you can purchase ANYTHING in the game. Even the rarest of items, so its not so much rarity as the gold.

You can always make your own account, get someone to level it for a price and go from there as the most secure method. Again, I believe gold is the value on that game, not accounts.

That's a fantastic idea! Time to look for someone to do so. You seem right on the point of most items being purchasable via gold. Still , lvl 138 might take a fair while..

Would still love input from others regarding buying accounts, just in case there IS a secure way, would save me the trouble.

Otherwise, time to find a Runescape powerleveler. If anyone knows any trustable Runescape powerlevelers please do let me know!

Yeah, not to disrespect Sky, but he's completely wrong. I've played rs since it came out and Jagex has always had a very very strict RWT policy, even more strict than blizzard. Be sure to take extreme caution will all new EPICNPC runescape vendors, as they have probably just come from Sythe, the most-known scammer haven. Likewise, when buying a runescape account, all info upfront is crucial (recoveries, past passwords, past IP's, basically all past info), I also wouldn't even think of buying from anyone else than the OO, since runescape accounts are so easy to recover if you had the proper information at one point. As mentioned above, Jagex has the most strict policy towards botters and gold sellers, even going as far to nuke over 20,000 accounts in one day due to past botting. Another method that Jagex uses against RWT is if the account is a first time abuser for buying gold, instead of banning, they simply clear the account of the gold. While RS is awesome, when RWT'ing, you have to be really careful. If you have any questions, hit me up on aim.

yeah, like Sky said though, gold is all you need in the game. Most accounts that don't have gold, unless maxed, only go for 150-200 at the very most.

Thanks Ash, I now understand they have a strict RWT policy. I have a few questions that hopefully you or anyone experienced will be able to address.
1. What precautionary measures should I take to ensure my account doesn't get cleaned of the gold/banned?
2. Do you know of any Runescape Powerlevelers?
3. What would be a safe amount of gold to buy at once?
4. Do you know of any reputable, legit Runescape resellers?
5. recoveries, past passwords, past IP's, basically all past info - Are these the only criteria?

1) If you are going to buy gold, try to make sure you purchase it through the arena, meaning the al-kharid staking arena. Where one guy goes and kills the other guy and you get the gold, a lot safer than a regular face to face trade.

3) Nothing is really safe, but I'd say you'll be fine with 100-300m gp.
4) Absolutely, accounts and services.
5) Yep, basically all the info, you need the email also to request an email change.
