if a character gets transfered to a different account can you get it back?

Hmmmm thats a tough one. If you can prove that the account was stolen and the guy took the character from you, then they will probably replace the char and ban the account it was traded too.

I assume this wont be easy, so ring blizzard with a ton of ammunition and proof. Hope it all works out, Daniel.

This happened to my friend a while back, let an old friend play his shaman for the test realm, sneaky hat took the shaman off the account and put it on another registered one within minutes.

Basically, yes you CAN get your character back. Just keep talking to blizz, get proof like above said, and just bare with the wait. Blizzard Tech support actually gets stuff done, sometimes.
