Steam is asking me to show them CD keys but I didn't buy any CD keys/games for my steam account. I did buy steam funds and I used my steam funds to buy DOTA 2 items from dota2.com/store . Can I still recover my account by showing them the transaction receipt and invoice id for buying steam funds? Also, steam support is not replying, it's been 2 days now :( If someone is willing to help, I will give 1 mythical set. You have my word.

Somewhere in the menu you are able to view the keys for each game you bought. However first make sure the email is actually from Steam and not some scammer phishing for info.

I don't understand why Steam would ask you for the keys since they are attached to the game on your Steam account, I would assume that someone from Steam support would be able to see your keys already.

That seems a little wierd, very few people record their keys from steam as the client saves them

A: Steam support is notoriously slow.

B: It's the common response now when an account gets hijacked/locked is for them to ask for CDkeys or the last game purchased.

I think thats normal steam wants to know if you really the original owner of the steam account. Provide any CD key.. If u cant give cd key as u never try to purchase cd key of any games or retailer somewhere else then maybe any cd key that u redeem in your account like humble bundle games :D? Or Make some alternative proof like as you said u bought items on http://www.dota2.com/store/. And u need to sign in your steam acct and u use steam funds for payment as what u said then provide screenshot of reciept in your email. And some details send them a photo with your credit card/paypal information or another document that validates your ID, like driver license, so they can see the name on the transaction
matches the name on your steam account ID billing details.

I only bought keys to humble bundle once and i still save the email with list of game keys maybe that should be fine to submit? If u had it. I can view some of the keys too in my steam Right-click on the game in the Library tab and select View Game CD Key If u redeem any key before. But some not available for all Steam games and a CD Key is not required for all games.

Once they have some sort of proof of ownership, the account will be restored to the owner.
