Is it true that if you dispute your claim on Paypal once, you can't do it again?

I was told that if I open a dispute on paypal and then cancel it, I can never open another dispute on that payment again. This seems like a good way to protect against scammers online (people who recall their money after a day or two), but is it true? Thanks.

Wrong section. I'll move it for you.

this is in fact correct. however, the scammer can simply file an "unauthorized" payment / access to paypal account claim and UNLESS you can prove that you did send them an item via TRACKED and INSURED mail, they will still win the claim.

i recommend that you send the buyer a sheet of paper with a sentence (for verification security) inside on a sheet of paper. once you have confirmed via the mailing tracking site that the recipient who signed for it matches the paypal account owner (verified) and verified address (get them to call you and recite the random phrase), THEN give them full account information e.g. the SQA and last name.

this way, you have covered all your bases. give them nothing more until a) payment has cleared into your bank b) they are able to recite the random phrase by calling you.

however, keep in mind that using this method requires that the buyer place a lot of trust in you. maybe western union if you are not decked in reputation would be suggested etc... or some form of agreement.
