Question about WU and transaction

Hi,

I'm new to any form of online payment, besides buying stuff from Amazon with my fathers CC lol.
I read through many guides (there's really a lot to read^^), but there are still a few things I'm wondering about, especially concerning WU.

I want to sell my FFXI money and it seems like Western Union is the safest method for me. I fear too much getting scammed with paypal, I have no paypal reputation at all anyway, since I've never used it.


So, what I'm most concerned about is... there is absolutely no way for a scammer to recall the money after he made the payment?

Does it make a diffrence for me if the buyer does the payment online or over an agent?

I assume the buyer gets the "MTCN" (Money Transfer Control Number) immediatly after making the payment, online aswell as over an agent?

Since I need to trade the money ingame, the hole process shouldn't take too long. When am I "safe" to trade the money ingame? Is recieving the MTCN already enough?

I guess I get an Western Union cash account like with paypal (haven't made a WU account yet) and can transfer the money to my account?



I'm sorry if some of my questions seem redundant, I just want to be sure about this.

So, I've done some research and it seems like I dont even need a WU account?

How do I check if the payment was made? Can I phone a bank supporting WU and ask about the status?

Couldnt the buyer add additional security questions but not tell me the answers? Will this make the money recallable?

I'm only able to pick up the money in a WU supporting bank and not online?

guy can always recall money untill its picked up. so you're safe only after you picked it up.

Yes you are only able to pick up money in a WU supporting bank.

Sender can add additional security questions but its not neccessary..it just costs money lol

To pick up money you dont need any account , only while sending ONLINE by credit card you need to create an account , either you dont need account to send money in agent location.

I'm wondering how a transaction like in my case (selling game currency) would run. I guess the buyer wouldnt want to wait until I picked up the money from a bank and then trade him the money ingame.

Untill you're repped i dont think anybody is going to send you WU payment for large amount
