Question about how Middleman service works

My friend was trying to tell me that the only way to use middleman service through EpicNPC is with their credit/currency system. He said I'd have to take full payment in this currency. Is that true? Sounds absurd. I was reading through some posts by verified middlemen and I did not specifically see anything like that mentioned.

No that is our escrow service, he is talking about.

Epicnpc middlemen are different. some hold the payment other dont.
