Potential issue with MMOWorldOnline . Need a mods advice/to step in.

In august I purchased an account from MMOWorldOnline.

It was a druid, troll, nothing special about her. I purchased this account the moment I got back from GenCon because I wanted to play with two friends.

I purchase, dont get SQ/A, transfer to friends server, they transfer off.

Few weeks later, after bothering him for days, I get my SQ/A. But, with friends gone, I have zero reason to play WoW. So I quit, uninstall, blah blah blah.

While under my control, I did 2-3 heroics, two old instances and various sitting in orgrimmar on my raven lord mount asking people to do more old instances.

The account information, username/password, was never changed. This happened for two reasons : 1. When I first got the account I didn't have SQ/A and did not want to risk getting locked out of the account without that info. 2. By the time I got the information my friends had transferred and I had no interest in playing again.



Well, I've just decided over the last couple days to start playing again. I go back to the druid, but the account says it is banned. I contact mmoworldonline since he still has the email its on and he tells me its been banned for "hacking".

We argue over who is to blame for this, he blames me, I say I didn't do anything since I wasn't even playing WoW.


I don't know what to do at this point.

All I can say is WoW was not on my computer from late September until earlier today.

He says he e-mailed blizzard to ask when the account was actually caught/noticed the account was "hacking" but I dont know/think blizzard can divulge information like that.

He is blaming me for this and is now saying I'm out to get him.


So I need a mod to step in.

Here is the activity on the account from the first thing I did to the end of things. There is an achivement in November that I did not get. The final thing I did was the Nefarian kill. Sorry for the
formatting, had to backspace it since it spread out so much. You can see the one month it was active for me I did almost nothing on it.

So between 9/12 and 11/8 you weren't playing.
Someone on 11/8 earned an achievement
Then it was banned sometime after 11/8

I'm assuming there were no emails about account recovery or password change?

There's really nothing to go on because you never changed any of the info. How do I know you didn't play it, hacked and got banned and now want MMOWorldOnline to compensate you? In the same measure, MMOWorldOnline could have easily just logged into the account, hacked on it, and got it banned. There's no way for me to know as you never changed the info.

Honestly I don't see you winning this dispute unless you can prove someone else accessed the account and got it banned.

Its most likely going to come down to it being your fault for not changing any of the login info.

As for not changing the information : Why is that a problem? It's stupid, but why is it a problem? The only two people (assuming he didn't share) that would know the information would be me and him.

But yes, it's quite a dumb situation.

Well if the info was changed, we could determine how the account was accessed by the emails received or if OO recalled. Since you didn't change any of the info, there's not going to be any notifications.

Your rep is something, but MMOWorldOnline is also TWV and has 15 positive reps, so that cancels things out imo.

You said that MMOWorldOnline contacted Blizzard and they told him the account was banned for hacking, but what does that mean? Usually Blizzard will say for botting or gold selling, hacking is a pretty general term. Did they provide him with any other info?

The fact is was banned for hacking tells us that it was not accessed by someone else, otherwise Blizzard would have locked it instead imo. Which would have allowed you or MMOWorldOnline to send in ID to unlock.

Why didn't MMOWorldOnline tell Blizzard the account was hacked into to they could unban it?

Hi, I'd like to comment on this incident. The user contacted me saying his account was hacked or reclaimed. I had assumed he had changed the information so proceeded to ask him why he was banned. He had no clue so I asked him if he got an email. He then told me that he never changed any of the information on the account. This to me was not very smart on his behalf. When I sold him the account I was not at home and told him I would get him the SQA the next day. It did take a couple days for us to both sink up and get him the info. He was happy and that was the end of the transaction. This was in April of 2011. He contacts me 2 days ago with his complaint that if he doesnt get this account back hes going to destroy my rep on this website and he demands I compesate him for this account. I setup unique emails for each account that I do not actually use so I had to go back and find the email for this account. I was able to see he never even changed the password from the generic simple one I gave him at the time of sale. I have the email from Blizzard stating a hacking program was used on the account and asked him about this. He accuses me of being the person who did it 7 months ago or recently. I can't prove without a shadow of a doubt it wasn't me, however I had no knowledge the info was never changed. I have a long standing reputation with this community and no reason to try an ruin it over a cheap 100 dollar account. i told him I would look into which I am doing but he has already gone ahead and filed a complaint here. Nobody was scammed, the account was not reclaimed and I can't know if this person used a hack program or not. The email I have from Blizzard I can forward to anyone shows this is a fact on there end. I'm not going to refund someone for hacking which appears to be what he has done despite the fact he won't admit it. Why would he I guess? Anyway, I'm going to continue to try and get the account back for this guy, despite the fact he's unreasonable and obviously not to bright. Why he wouldn't change the info on the account is beyond me. Perhaps he changed it back after the account got banned in an attempt to try and scam me into refunding him. No clue but at the end of the day I dont' refund accounts banned for buying gold, powerleveling or hacking. I just don't do it and I don't know any other sellers who do either. I'm less inclined to help this individual now since I told him I was working on getting the account unbanned wed night at midnight. I sent some msg yesterday and am awaiting replies. He has gone ahead and tried to label me a scammer which to be honest pisses me off and makes me not care if he gets this account back anymore. However being the bigger person i will continue to work with Blizzard to unban the account if possible. I make no promises as you never know what they will decide to do.

Two things :

I didnt even pay 100 dollars. I paid much less, like 60.

Second, I never threatened anything. I said that since I knew I hadn't done anything, if we didn't get the account back I would more than likely ask for compensation.

Feel free to post aim logs where I was rude to you as you have been to me through this entire process.

Exactly - You paid 60 bucks for an account you had 7 months and never once changed the information. Your account was banned for using a hacking program and your here trying to ruin my reputation after I informed you I would work on getting the account back for you. I even have PROOF the account was using a hacking program according to Blizzard. You repeatedly told me I would compesate you and if not you would label me a scammer on these forums, I don't respond well to threats from people. Why you chose to irritate me after I said I'd try to get the account back for you I have no idea. I really have nothing further to add and you've irritated me to the point I don't care anymore. I'll make myself available to the mod here for any questions they have on this incident but I'm done corresponding with you.

this isn't about whether MMOWorldOnline is being rude or if sakura was being threatening.

The fact is sakura you had this account since April and never changed any info. There is no proof one way or the other on who used the hack program and as stated before, it comes down to sakura failing to change any of the account info.

MMOWorldOnline has stated he will attempt to get it unbanned, so that's really all that can be done.

And I never said "Man he's rude I should have the account back"

I'm only saying that he's been lying throughout this whole procedure and has yet to even show the e-mail for the banning.

MMOWorldOnline stated he is willing to try to get the account unbanned, but there won't be any ban from this, so I'm going to close it. If you are able to come across any proof on who hacked on the account, please PM me or a mod to re-open this.
